Hello All!

Two things are recently new to me - this forum (although I have lurked a bit) and a decent TV so I can pause and rewind etc (I'm coming very late to this party on both counts, I know!)

As I have experimented with joining the 21st century, I've noticed that it has been moments from Strictly that I've rewound more than any other show. In particular, I have rewound Jay's jive, the moment Claudia told Peter to get off her, the Gleb Special and the moment Tristan dragged Jamelia into place by her hair - the latter two over and over with a kind of horrified delight to check the evidence of my own eyes. Anyone else find themselves rewinding bits of the show, for good or for bad?

Ps . Tristan and Jamelia borh said on ITT that his hand got caught in her hair and he tried to free it

That's the thing with words - the technology changes yet we use the same word. Any suggestions for an alternative to "rewound"?

How about "replay" ?

I think Jay's Jive I have watched about five times.

A few of Georgia's: the chemistry between Georgia & Giovanni probably makes for the best dance couple (post Len talking to)

& a few of Anita's dances (the ghost themed one and the Blackpool moody one) I have replayed also.

Bacofoil with added forum comments, any time I need a laugh... despite how cringeworthy the actual dance itself is.

I rewind every single one of Jays dances at least twice before I carry on watching.

then I have a good 6 or so minutes of VT fast forward.

I rewind ALL Jay's dances except the Quickstep. I cant bring myself to re-watch it since week 4 .

The Gleb, Giovanni and Oti Paso dance introduction.

The first celebrity group dance.

Random bits from youtube;
Gleb and Anitas 'first steps' because her fangirling is so funny.
Peter and Janettes behind the scenes interview were they insist that 'practice, practice and more practice' is the key to a great dance... the week after that jive.

Jay's jive because it was so unexpected and came out of nowhere before that i'd pretty much written him off, mostly because of the hair disaaarster as Craig would say

Georgia's Charleston or Char-less-ton as Giovanni would say just because she exuded so much joy whilst doing it and as Bruno said fossie was with her all the way

Anita's Paso for the drama, loved Anita, up to that point she'd been forgettable for me, laughed at Gleb's obvious posing and preening all the way through, he's such a camera hogger

Kellie's dances I've never rewound, not because of Kellie but because of the god awful dresses and get ups they've landed her with nearly every single week, someone in the wardrobe department hates her, Katie's dances for the exact opposite reason, she's had the best frocks of them all I think

I am typically bias and I have only really replayed all of Jay's dances (yes even the Quickstep) and a couple of the group performances.

When the series is over I might replay a few others.
I've replayed a lot of Rachels, Carolines showdance.

BIB - I hear people talk about that but I can't remember it, have you got a link to that clip?

I've watched Oti and Aljasz's dance to Brandon Flowers about a hundred times by now.

I hated that Quickstep too and have never watched it since. Hated the music and choreography.

Jay's jive has had over 1,000,000 views on YouTube. I think 750,000 of those are probably mine 😳


Out of nowhere for me too. I'd just come back from holiday so the jive was the first time I'd seen him dance. I'd been reading online that Peter Andre was favourite, top of the leader board for his cha-cha-cha blah blah blah (whatevs ) but I had read a line or two that this person from The Wanted was quite good. So, I remember saying to my OH just before we watched it "ooh, now he's supposed to be alright".....and then he just went and blew my f*cking mind!! 😂😂

There's usually one dance in each programme I want to see again, Jay's jive, tango, rumba, Georgia's samba, charleston, AS.

The only 'live' replay I've done was jays jive. Hubby + I both sat gobsmacked, did we 'really' just see that? (And he's only a casual watcher). We had to replay it straight away to check.
Have watched plenty on YouTube tho, mostly Jays rhumba, then tango.
Occasionally revisit old dances too, Louis showdance, Austin's Paso

I was away that weekend so didn't see Jay's jive live. When I got home I came on here first before watching my recording and saw all the hullabaloo about it. Watched it, then re-watched to make sure my eyes hadn't deceived me the first time......then watched again because it was so gobsmackingly good. Have watched it on YouTube many times since....along with his waltz (which I'd only half-watched at the time so didn't realise how good he was), salsa, tango and rumba.

Others from the past - Mark Ramprakash's Argentine Tango with Karen Hardy - never seen a better AT on Strictly - and occasionally Jill Halfpenny's jive with Darren whatsisname. Oh, and Tom Chamber's showdance.
