The Corrs - White Light
TheTruth1983

I don't see a thread on it (it didn't come up in search).

Anyone get it? I've listened to it a fair bit. Obviously, it's no Talk On Corners or In Blue but I really like it. It's got quite a mature nostalgia to the song writing in places especially on songs like Ellis Island and Harmony. I also really like Kiss of Life and Strange Romance.

Gerry's Reel (dedicated to their late father) is another high point, a traditional Irish instrumental with a contemporary arrangement.

Definitely a really good album.

I like it, and I am glad they are back.
That said, I don't think there are any classics on it that I will be listening to years down the line like I have done with Runaway, Only When I Sleep, etc.
I also feel their comeback has been almost too low key.....like not even bothering to shoot a proper music video for Bring On The Night?!

Yes, it's nice to have them back and it's a good album.

The songs are really pretty although not exactly groundbreaking.

They've always been a pretty low key act not really into the celebrity thing, so I think the low key thing suits them.

They've actually done a heck of a lot of promo for a group who is supposedly 'low key'. Big interview with The Sun, Graham Norton Show, Chris Evans radio show, Royal Variety show/photo op with Prince Harry and front cover of Daily Mail Weekend magazine. Plus shed loads more.

I think the album went in at number 11 in the end.

I adore Unconditional, I'd love to see it as a single with video.

Sorry for the bump but I went to their final White Light Tour date for this leg in Belfast last night and they were incredible. They put on a superb show to a packed arena and are as good as ever if not better. Andrea Corr is perfection.

I'll second that, saw the o2 show last weekend, first class performance and well worth the eleven and a half year wait since I last saw them at Hammersmith back in 2004. One of those shows where I literally couldn't find fault with it and an early contender for my 'gig of the year'.

Why not listen to this and others on YouTube?

I'm very envious of people on this thread that have seen this band live!

One of my all time favourite bands. 'Runaway', 'What Can I Do', 'So Young', and 'Breathless' are masterpieces! Their newest album is very good too.

I didn't get to see them this year

But I will always have the memory of getting to see them for free back in 98

I missed them in Dublin last week but fortunately they are playing another Irish date in June so I plan to see them then

I would love to see them live. They were always a band who strongly delivered live. the new album is very decent release and is better than some of their previous releases.

Yes, their new album is excellent - not one duff track

An excellent album, but for me 'Bring on the night' is the weakest track. The other songs are stronger, so not sure why 'Bring on the night' was chosen as the comeback single. However, thank you to The Corrs for releasing a strong album.

I love the white light album, I'm so hoping this isn't their final album and they do another one. I wanted to see them in the O2 london but the ticket already sold out.

I really hope they do well and stay around.

The White Light tour ended last night with a return to Belfast but this time for an outdoor concert. I am so pleased I managed to see the wonderful Corrs for a second time. They are all so talented, have so many brilliant songs and Andrea is adorable.

I hope I get the chance to see them again in the not too distant future.
