Venison in school meals
Here in Notts the local schools authority has reduced its beef intake by using venison two ways, a venison burger and a venison and veg pie in their bi-weekly menu. Do other authorities do this as a healthier replacement to beef, or is it just here?

I would have thought that cost would come before health. Maybe the schools in your area can get a good deal on venison.
I doubt many would. There would be cheaper alternatives to replace beef. |

I know there's a bit of a glut of venison at the moment, but I doubt its cheaper than beef
![]() Could be to add a bit of variety or maybe someone on the procurement panel also owns a reindeer herd ![]() Surprised no parents have gone running to the papers with their SadFaced child complaining of their kiddies precious childhood being RUINED by being forced to eat Bambi and Rudolf.

Seems a strange thing to do. Would like to see what their justification is.

Seems a good thing to do, more variety is always good for a child
