Amazon Fire tablet loses Wifi.
The wife has got a new Amazon fire tablet which she has had for about 3 weeks but she has just told me that the Wifi keeps going off on it for no reason at all.
it is not our router as we have other tablets and a laptop that runs from the Wifi so are these tablets know for losing the Wifi signal? if not what could be the reason for it doing this? |

I have noticed the wifi afdaptor often shows only 1 bar when otherr devices showat least two. It is definitely less powerful. Do you get issue when close to router?

When she is sat next to router it does the same thing as if in another room.
Routers can use a number of channels from 1 to 11 (for technical reasons, you should only use channels 1, 6 or 11 (five channels apart). Some routers autoswitch channels to try and keep strongest signal in place, but sometimes devices lose contact when the signal switches. Suggest you logon on to you router and set the wifi channel to 1, 6 or 11 (you can download wifi apps that tell you what is the least used channel, but trial and error is ok as only three choices). By setting it to one channel, you might find your link is more stable. |
