Opinions on Olly Murs?
Just another manufactured pop singer or a decent pop singer outright even if he isn't great? I like some of his work, I see a bit of Robbie Williams in him. I find Kiss me quite catchy

I think he's extremely likeable, his music isn't bad either, I haven't got any of his albums but from what I've heard they sound ok.

During X Factor 2009 I always said Joe McElderry was a fantastic singer, but not a popstar. Yet, I don't really think Olly made that much of an impression on me at the time. Probably thought Joe and Stacey would be the final 2 that year.
However, when Olly did release his first couple of singles I thought they were good - not brilliant, but likeable. For me, Olly came into his own with Heart Skips A Beat. I think this was when he became a bonafide popstar, and built up a fanbase during that time. He's very much a Robbie Williams for the next generation. I can see Olly Murs being in showbiz for years to come although whether he ventures into more TV work is left to be seen. He might not be the best singer in the world but, like AdzPower posted, he's a likeable person with a great personality. The public like people like that. I suspect if Joe McElderry had more of a personality too, he would've had a better career as a popstar. |

He is average at best. Follows the same formula with his music though.

Olly Murs is a really likeable character. Some of his songs that I have listened from him are really good.
I bought one of his albums a few months ago on Xbox Music (now called Groove Music). I only listened to one song so far but I have watched some of his music videos and they actually a lot of them are really nicely made. I would say that he will have a very nice career out of it all. I hope he sticks with it. He is one of the good ones. |

Olly Murs is the only solo gentleman from whom I know I have liked 4 songs this century! These are Please Don't Let Me Go, Heart Skips a Beat, Troublemaker and Dear Darling.

The quality of Olly's songs has declined after his earlier songs were brilliant. Is very charismatic though so can imagine him doing more tv work

Decent pop singer, though the bloom is off the rose for him now. Wonder if that's why he's 'learning' presenting as a back up?!
If he's going to stick with the latter, it would be nice if he learned to speak. 'Fink' and 'froo' just sound terrible. It's not cute, if that's what's he's going for. |

I find his whole 'cheeky chappy' persona incredibly annoying, but the music is good, particularly the first two albums.
He should stick to being a singer, because it seems like the music has gone downhill ever since he decided to be a TV presenter. His current single is pretty weak. |

His music is bland.
Robbie Williams wannabe. When he makes a song as good as this lemme know: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAX_CpzFn3w |

I've never listened to him until recently. Seems ok, although doubt would buy anything by him.

The new single is shit and hasn't been a big hit. I don't think any of the singles from his current album hit the top either..

Incredibly likable and genuine guy from what I have seen of him.
His music leaves me cold he follows a pattern and a formula and his music is at best basic. I can see him being like a male Cilla eventually venturing into TV work when the hits dry up, as there is only so far that formula can go. |

He's still selling well though, Never Been Better went double platinum and the album has a platinum single and two gold singles and what was probably a sellout EU/Australia tour in promotion of the album. I'm sure most artists, never mind X Factor alumni, would like to have that success in the UK on their fourth album.

Don't really like or get his personality, I can't stand listening to him talk. And he's a god awful presenter.
However I do like some of his songs, Dear Darlin', Oh My Goodness and a couple of album tracks. I won tickets to our Christmas Live radio event here, found out he was headlining it and gave the tickets away. He's not that good and certainly shouldn't have been the star attraction. Everywhere else in the country seemed to have Little Mix and The Vamps! |

Can't stand him and his popularity is a constant source of bemusement for me.
He's the bloke from accounts at the office party doing karaoke and dad dancing. Basically a Robbie Williams tribute act that has got really, really lucky because Simon Cowell likes him. Absolutely average at everything he does and yet he's surprisingly popular |

He's alright. I thought some of his songs were quite catchy and he seems like a nice person. Mum has taken a liking to him

Likeable guy, catchy songs. He's also been heavily involved in all of his albums which gives him a bit of credibility. Especially his second album which, I think, was all killer, no filler.
'Please Don't Let Me Go' was one of the better (original) career launching songs from an X Factor contestant. Behind only Bleeding Love. |

Didn't do very well as a Deal or no Deal constestant, had a fairly succesfull pop career, and doing even worse presenting reality TV
