Well if that is the case and therefore after cutting we are left with what they consider they that to best to show us then my comments are ever more valid.

In my job I have trained many people like this -and so called "graduates " - and they are almost universally useless and don't have the brains they were born with.

I like Vana - and she is the best of a very poor lot in my opinion
Not necessarily. They'll edit certain candidates differently. some will be shown in a great light, others in a not so good light, week on week.

they'll only really leave in the controversial parts for the final production, it's a tv show at the end of the day.

True enough because at the end of the day it doesn't really matter.

Just hope that none of this lot end up running the country !

Yes, but I don't think the editing is done to make certain candidates better or worse consistently. The editing is done to tell the story of a task in an entertaining way. That means a key mistake made by someone will get highlighted at the expense of showing positive but unimportant contributions they made during the rest of the task. These are edited highlights of hours of filming and the aim is to make a coherent story out of it.

I don't buy the "X always gets a good edit", "Y always gets a bad edit" theories. This isn't BB with a public vote that needs to be steered in the right direction. Someone who is brilliant one week could drop a massive clanger the next. It wouldn't make any sense to try and edit those events to suit some director's plan. Of course it's possible that they might edit the early episodes so that events in later episodes follow some kind of "arc" but it's much more likely that they don't plan it out that much.

It could be argued that someone like Charleine is often shown shouting over people or mispronouncing words to make her seem worse than she is. But it's more likely these characteristics of hers are picked out because they add entertainment value.
