Of course she didn't, silly. I'm just one person you know. Acknowlegding that I'm tired of Anita's dancing and partnership doesn't in any way negate the statement that Anita is GENERALLY getting some huge bashing.

It helps that there's no duffer among the Semi Finalists. All the best dancers have made it this far. Three that I've been rooting for since the start are still in it and I don't have any reason to dislike the other 3.

As for being quiet, in the last 10 days I've had restricted internet, a foreign trip, 2 christmas parties to contend with. I didn't have time for everything.

I've not lost interest at all just busy getting ready for crimbo.

Not really, as I haven't been that invested for the last few years. Back in series 5, 6 or 8 I probably would have been one of those multi-voting mega fans who thought my favourite was more hard done by than anyone else.

Fair enough. Perhaps I am seeing things incorrectly due to my own prejudices.

The way I see is though, is that many of the negative Jay comments were contained in threads about him, many of them ending up being locked anyway.

This new wave of Anita dislike has seemingly percolated into all the major threads and is pretty difficult to ignore. She's not even my favourite, but I just find a lot of the comments about her ability and her character to be ridiculous.

I've made negative comments about celebs on different occasions, but I haven't seen such concentrated nastiness until this past week or so, almost solely directed at Anita.

It's definitely semi final week out there and the gloves are off. You can't move for negative threads and posts about all of the couples left.

I think the board goes quiet during the week, especially since the introduction of FB and Twitter. So many posters I know rarely come on here at all any more and most of them stay on Twitter during the live show.

The ATs seem much quieter these days though with some celebs not even having their own thread. I don't remember that ever happening, but I stand to be corrected. Some ATs are just chat threads these days too. And then you have the spoiler thread which starts on a Friday where a lot of posters dig in every week... Things change.

I can understand that, I think its just that the nastiness has come in peaks and troughs for each of them. Jay got most of his early on after his jive, Georgia got some after her good run in the middle and now Anita is getting some. Although it probably balances out over the series, I agree it does seem very concentrated, I guess because there are less contestants to post about and, as the OP says, there doesn't seem to be much else to discuss at the moment. I think Anita and Katie are pretty much on a par technically, but most people automatically blame Anton for any deficiencies Katie may have, so Anita ends up taking all the 'worst dancer left' flak.

IMO every show of this type have less posts IAC BB and X Factor all have lost a lot of posts over the last year.

That's more or less it , although I think that anita is better than katie .
I've looked in a few times this week and nothing has grabbed my attention enough to respond to , which is unusual . But I have noticed far less responses than usual . I daresay the weekend will be a flurry of activity though . I hope so .

Yes, Nina, most of those Jay threads were indeed locked away. There was no criticising Jay.

I don't use either any more (preferred it on here), but the main FB group is downright vicious and doesn't seem to be moderated. Twitter has always been a free for all and there's not the same pack mentality. Someone else might disagree.

I can't say I've paid much attention to FB and Twitter in regards to Strictly, but the BBC Strictly blog can be pretty ruthless in comments!

Well, I think that because it is nearly Christmas and everyone is busy, I'm not surprised that this forum is quiet, despite that, I'm still here.

It can be and I've seen comments removed or put under moderation.
