Anton has had some pretty awful partners in the past few years. He deserves a decent partner and at last a place in the final.

Isn't amazing how some of the posters on here appear to be trained dancers. They seem to know more about dancing than the professionals .

Might not be likely but if scores were as follows:
A&K 2 + 4 = 6
A&G 3 + 1 = 4
K&K 5 + 2 = 7
G&G 4 + 3 = 7
J&A 4 + 5 = 9

Katie and Anton could have been 2nd with public although I think a different scenario is more likely as Gleb and Anita would have been bottom.

But does Anton actually deserve to win?
He is obviously excellent at ballroom but his Latin and some of the more specialist dances are ropey at best. This means that he cannot keep up with the rest of the pro cast for the majority of the dances.
His awful partners are the reason he has been kept on for the show. He is the older woman's buffer. What other dancer of almost 50 years old would have a place?
I don't think he particularly deserves the place; regardless of who his partner is. He is smug and seems to think the competition is all about him, rather than the celebrity partner he supposed to showcase. I cringe every time someone mentions how far Anton has reached - it's Katie who has made it this far.
He needs to learn how to deflect attention to his partner and be much more self effacing.

There is an affection towards him from the public relative to Strictly history. Katie has done well but the public will know that she doesn't deserve to win (barring something extraordinary on the night) and will vote accordingly imo.

I recognise Strictly history, but to be honest Brendan represents this more than Anton. He is the original winner and he continues to perform well in all areas, producing amazing choreography at times.

Not amazing at all. I expect that the show attracts dancers and dance teachers. I have learned a lot from their comments.

You're right, he did.
He hasn't always had the best of times with his partners, but he is fiercely determined to do well and produce the best dances. He is still one of Strictly's better pros, whereas Anton is a bloody joke.

One judge disagreed with the others and you regarding who they thought deserved to stay in the competition..

I would disagree that the dance was terrible, it was very entertaining and Anita is a better all around dancer to Katie.

OMG a little bit of love shown on the main forum for Brendan, this almost never happens! I think i will have to save this somewhere!

I don't mind who wins this year.

Katie did look uncomfortable in the Charleston but their waltz to one of Puccini's arias was just lovely to watch - even with the mistakes. And well done to whoever sang that; some treacherous high notes for someone I'm guessing isn't opera trained.

For me, Anita was let down by her partner's choreography which was more acrobatic than dance but she gave it everything she had, as she did every week.. Didn't care for her costume at all - wedge boots?

According to this thread Jay, Georgia, Kellie and Katie is the chosen one, so at least some people are going to be right.

I know its long past time but what makes anyone think Craig is going to give ANYONE a 10 this series, not showing any sign of doing so.

Have thought that having a dance-off when it's down to 5 couples gives the judges too much power compared to the public vote. It's also not good for the show as a popular contestant can end up leaving.

As you've said it is in theory possible - regardless of the likelihood - for someone to be as high as 2nd in the public voting, still be in the dance-off and end up leaving the competition.
