Georgia May Foote is in trouble on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.

It's the semi-finals and the soap star is ill ahead of tonight's live performances.

"I honestly better get well for Saturday. Why now?" she tweeted yesterday.

Pro partner Giovanni Pernice added in a post online: "What a hard week !! Second day of training but my partner is still sick !! Georgia May Foote don t worry .. We will be fine !! # team GG!"

Later speaking on It Takes Two, Georgia told how she had been diagnosed with Pharyngitis, an inflammation of the pharynx that causes a sore throat, coughing, headache, fever and fatigue.

Not quite the thing that you need to deal with when learning TWO routines for a Strictly live show.

In more bad luck for the celerity couple, it also comes after a week in the bottom two, with Georgia suggesting: "I think that's probably what bought it [the illness] on to be honest!"

She added of her first appearance in the dance-off: "I was kind of expecting it that week because everyone was so good. Everyone's just so good and no one s safe, it could be anyone in the bottom two.

"As much as you want to stay, I didn't want Helen [George] to go, she deserved to be in the semi-finals."

As well as sickness, Georgia has also had to deal with a last minute dance change with her Argentine Tango becoming a Cha Cha.

All in all it's left the pair with just ONE DAY of training for each dance.

"We've just had to do the quickest and best ways to do these dances," admitted Gio.

While the pressure is on and the odds are against them, he insisted: "She will be fine."

She was on ITT and seemed to be poorly but getting over it, the articles on this seem to be a bit late.

PS the hi tech medical name Pharyngitis,= a sore throat.

She can ask for a bye to the final. I think Natalie Gumede was given a bye when she was ill.

No she won't be missing tonight - think her recent tweet proves it - http://twitter.com/georgiafoote/stat...83125717049344

No she can't. They said at the time that byes would not be given at the quarter or semi final stage...

But it's irrelevant as that article was just a bit of outdated speculation. Sure Georgia will be dancing

No, that's one of the symptoms. Pharyngitis is a technical term for a swollen pharynx, this can cause difficult swallowing, nausea, fatigue, fever etc. - so not just a sore throat.

She has a sore throat. What a drama queen!

You have posted what a few people may be thinking! But not brave enough to post it.

You're either being sarcastic or haven't read my previous post.

Pharyngitis isn't like a regular sore throat at all. I had it a while back and it's really bloody painful, talking was absolute agony.

Charming!

Any ailment in a week when you have two new dances to learn and that causes you to lose training time is a real problem!

No she's posted something that is factually inaccurate.
Using someone's ill health to insult them doesn't fall under my definition of bravery.

I hope people don't think like that and have some sympathy instead.

I can vouch for that. It makes you really very ill and it took me quite some time to get over it.

It does depend how bad it is, it's usually a couple of days but can go on for much longer in severe cases.

Agreed, it's an article seemingly taken from the Mirror, and cobbled together incorporating events from two days for dramatic effect.

I've had pharyngitis (only once thankfully) and I've had sore throats... Believe me. They are not the same thing.

As I recall, it was about a week to 10 days before I started to feel remotely normal. Even with a milder bout, Georgia can hardly have been able to overinvest in any practice time she's managed to get in. Mind you, she's young so no doubt her recovery time would be a bit quicker than mine was! Can't have been terribly helpful, though.

I had it for about ten day, the only relief came from not talking. It hurts like hell. When I did talk I sounded like a gruff old man.

I agree it can't have been very helpful but it can't be too bad if she has done some training. I expect she will come out and do 2 great dances.

She did look like talking was painful on ITT, she kept massaging her throat in between. Also never known Joe Varney to peak so much. He was look ing out for her, and boy has his english got better!!

I have suffered many, many times from sore throats, laryngitis etc over the years, some have been worse than others, most of the time I have just carried on as usual. I sound like a gruff old man normally

If this were Anita, there would be pages of those type of comments.

Georgia will be fine, can't blame her for milking this a bit she was in the DO last week!

She'll be there & she will amaze us all!!
She didn't look or sound well on ITT last night but she'll run on adrenaline tonight & dance beautifully as always!! Whether that will be enough for the voting public remains to be seen!!

I'm not sure, I managed to go to work with it. Anything too strenuous would have been impossible though.

I think people are implying that she's looking for a sympathy vote. I'm not too afraid to say it
