Don't think you've really got any evidence that she's "milking it".

To be fair apart from the initial tweet Georgia herself has hardly mentioned it!! It's the media & this forum that have been doing all the speculating!!

As for the comment about Anita

Jay's Grandad died very recently and he attended his funeral this week. Had I not read a comment on here mentioning it Id have had no idea. Good for him for not resorting to sympathy milking, not that he needs it anyway.

I like Georgia and if Anita doesn't win then I would like Georgie to win. She may well be going for the sympathy vote being as she was bottom 2 last week

Exactly, it is only on completely misleading threads titles like this one that it gets re-hashed more times than yesterday's leftovers.

Knee problems & Grandfather dying, then the funeral on Thursday. All of which Jay has kept quiet.

What evidence have people got to argue that she's going for the sympathy vote. It seems to me that the argument goes, she's ill, therefore she must be going for the sympathy vote.
Her dancing speaks for itself.

I hardly think shes going to miss 2 days of training for the semi-finals, in a week where she has 2 dances to learn and perform in front of millions because her throats a bit sore. Given her obvious investment in the show, her hardwork so far, and her desire to not let her partner down, taking two days off leaving her one day training for each dance for a 'sore throat' is beyond ridiculous. I think she is neither lazy or a liar. But I guess we can add it to the list of judges favourite, bad dances, producers manipulating her to win and all the others.....

Viral infections can completely zap your whole system regardless of origin, which is obviously the case with Georgia, hardly just her throat was a bit sore.

As a migraine sufferer that always infuriates me. I can work through a headache, a migraine is another matter. I can't think, can't move, throw up constantly, and my skin hurts. If someone touched me I would scream. Everything hurts, standing up is not an option as I fall over and throw up, while at the same time lying down increases the pressure in my head. Not pleasant.

I feel for Georgia, and if milking it is making one tweet about it and then talking about it in an interview when being asked questions regarding her health, well then my perception of milking it is compeltely wrong.

I do think if this was Anita or Kellie, or even Katie there wouldn't be half as much sympathy flying around. Kevin has been ill, Gleb's face swelled up last week. They've all been sick, there are lots of bugs flying around at this time lf year and they are all tired and worn out with the series coming to an end next week.

It's always a different story when a forum fave is involved though

If you'd ever been diagnosed with this you'd be more sympathetic- I feel for Georgia, having had this 3 or 4 years ago. I completely lost 24 hours with the fever, then had to suffer comments like yours.

Oh, and before any of you assume anything, I'm a Jay supporter

I didn't claim anything. I said I wouldn't blame her for milking it, as she was in the bottom 2. Not that she is milking it.

This is silly.

I just found out yesterday, only reading from this forum. It's very sad and death of a family member affects you in so many levels. Not a word from him. He is a true Gentleman.

If anyone had to miss two full days of training in semi-finals week, leaving one day training for each dance of course I would be sympathetic. No one can see it as anything else than being a huge disadvantage at the most cruical and stressful stage, when you're up against the best. I certainly wouldn't be trying to claim shes lying about it, or shes lazy and just fancied a lie down for a sore throat, or shes concoted up this plan for sympathy nomatter which celeb it was. Believe that if you wish.

Its quite unecessary and sad that people have to think up the worst scenarios about a person (especially when they don't even make any logical sense)

As someone who's suffered from Pharyngitis more than once, I can assure you it's a heck of a lot more than a sore throat. I was in bed for a week the first time I had it, I was too ill to get up.

I liked Jay anyway because he's the best dancer by far, but he's really gone up in my estimation by keeping all of this quiet.

I'm not saying she lying. Just that there woulve been a far more negative reaction if someone else had been sick.

And if she really has had pharyngitis she has my sympathy, because it's agony.

I feel sorry for Jay and his loss. Its not something everyone would post on twitter right enough. I do think he is a gentleman.

However, I think its quite reasonable to post that you're not feeling well and Georgia is hardly not a lady because she happens to post shes not well. Shes every right to be honest with the fact shes missed so much training...why hide it? So that meanspirited people can judge her and make out shes manipulative or lazy?

I don't get the 'if she really has pharygitis'....why wouldn't she really? Why is there even a suggestion she'd be making up lies? Why else would she miss 2 days of training at this stage unless she was sick enough to need it?

The negative reaction on social media that I've seen from this has been too much - its been unecessary, mean and also illogical. On other places too. Maybe there would have been as much negative reaction with others, I'm not so sure - I think it depends on whether its their favourite or not... but that doesn't make it right. Why anyone would react 'negatively' to ANY celeb losing two days of training at this stage when they have 2 dances to compete with is beyond me.

So far it's been mentioned twice that Georgia has been ill this week ...

Once via her own tweet & on ITT last nite.

Georgia will get the sympathy vote for being in the DO last week which made her cry.
She will also get some extra votes for being ill this week which made them having to change their dance & she had only 1 1/2 days to perfect the Cha Cha.

Lets wait until after show before we start accusing anyone is milking anything for sympathy.

I wouldn't post on Twitter (or Facebook) if I was feeling ill. Never have done either.
