I have always been a fan and like you this has really pushed him up. If no Anita, I was going to vote for him, in the final. I always think the male celebrities have a harder task than the female celebrities.

I'm so sorry to hear of Jay's loss. Best wishes to him and his family at such a sad time.

A bereavement is a private matter and Jay's done the right thing not to mention it.
Illness isn't a private matter. I don't think Georgia should pretend to be well if she's not.

Why anyone would react 'negatively' to ANY celeb losing two days of training at this stage when they have 2 dances to compete with is beyond me.”

Well said.

I sympathise having suffered migraine for last 40 years. At least now medication is far better than it was. I've had pharyngitis. as well and it's not just a sore throat.

Why is this forum so nasty this year? It's more akin to BB than SCD with it's childish personal comments about contestants. Love SCD for the dancing and the effort that the celebrities put in. to put on a good show. It's simple stuff. It matters not who wins the glitterball really as it 's not the day job .

She hasn't milked it! Good grief. We've been told when Anita hurt her arm and Kevin was ill. Getting bugs is part of Strictly - but it's still very tough luck on her this week.

(Jay's loss is a completely different kind of thing and I would guess that he wanted to avoid media and/or fans bothering his family at the funeral. I think it's understandable if he doesn't want to talk about it, and at the same time I wouldn't think any less of him if he did.)

It's just been more speculation around Georgia being ill, understandably, because of the confusion over her dance changing. Give her a break.

Where have you been? It's always been nasty, this year it's actually been quite tame in comparison.

Well seeing as people have been getting votes for a whole number of reasons (liking their pro partner being just one, not liking a judges comment/mark for another) and plenty have been voting for people when they clearly haven't been the best dance or performance of the night, I'd say if Georgia gets any votes for sympathy she'll be matching the others for the first time - I loathe ridiculous reasons for getting the vote - but Georgias dancing and performance has earned her a final place. Anyway Going by what I've read, shes getting blamed for being sick and missing training, not getting sympathy.

The final is not till next week, she hasn't earned a place yet.

I felt it was quite nasty when Peter was still in, this forum was horrible. Anita has taken a fair bit of stick recently too.

Well good for you. Theres nothing wrong with posting shes unwell - lots of her fans are interested in the latest. She was getting hounded for not posting anything only a few days ago as people felt they were entitled to know. Shes every reason to keep people informed - it was ONE tweet and seeing as shes missed half her training and its the biggest part in her life at the moment its a bit relevant. God sometimes I just can't believe how people want to see the worst in people all the time.

That's a matter of opinion - you can judge on the dances of one night or over the whole series. I'd argue that her dancing throughout the series more than merits a place in the final.

From the dances so far, I believe she has. Shes outdanced and outperformed a few of the other semi-finalists - if she doesn't tonight it will be the first. Just my opinon. And no, before another drama starts I'm not suggesting she should get to the final based on what shes done so far. She doesn't produce because of her lack of training tonight she may go, thats how the cookie crumbles. I was merely responding to the suggestion she may get sympathy votes for tomorrow. If she does, it will be a first - and in terms of getting some votes for reasons other than being the best dancing and performance of the night, she'll still be a good bit behind the others on that one.

Yes, I think it was a bit guilty of letting my own personal dislike of Peter cloud my judgement a bit back then.

Anita seems so inoffensive I can't understand why would dislike her really? She to me is what the show is all about, learning a new skill and developing over the course of the series.

Her dancing speaks for itself.”

She could have a broken leg in plaster and some of the people on here would say she was 'milking it'.

Who would have thought a drunk is capable of speaking more sense than others. May be I should start drinking Vodka.

I wasn't having a dig at you Vodka, I just noticed how bad it was and stuck up for Peter even though I don't particularly like him.

I love Anita, she won't win but I have enjoyed watching her dance every week.

I feel the same, yellow.

I wasn't a great fan of Peter, but I wasn't interested in the bashing whatsoever.

As for Anita, she's not my favourite, Georgia is (although I'm sure some posters will tell you different) - I have just made posts defending her and commenting on the ridiuclousness of the vitriol.

Pharyngitis is similar to laryngitis except it's the pharynx, not the larynx which is affected.

I had it some years ago and felt really very poorly. My mum had to come up to London to look after me.

With all due respect, would anyone be remotely interested?

Generally speaking we don't post about our illnesses because it is boring for others. Georgia however is appearing on a prime time show and so there is rather more interest (hence this thread).
