No,she won't win. Jay's got it in the bag I think, but Anita has entertained me every single week. Her paso is probably the joint dance of the series along with Jay's jive, justtice brilliant. How it didn't get 40 I'll never know!

Best of luck to Georgia, I hope tonight goes well for her.

Have you ignored the other posts in the thread? Pharyngitis is not just a sore throat.

Such an illness can make you feel extremely run-down and affect your entire body.

People with invisible (physical or mental) impairments always do suffer prejudice in this world.

(My mother has suffered bi polar disorder as long as I can remember. It is so extreme that she has been sectioned many times for long hospital visits. One time she was physically sick and needed surgery. I remember visiting her then on a general ward. She was in pain and nervous of course but so happy because she was surrounded by cards and flowers. No one beyond immediate family visited or sent any of that stuff when her suffering was 'only' in her mind.)

The attitude of the milking-it posters is no surprise.

God help anyone who is ill (mentally or physically) without the whopping great plaster cast

There's no point in having a discussion if you're just going to ignore the facts. I'll presume you're just trying to rile people.

Are you seriously comparing a cold/pharyngitis to bi-polar?!

Surely the most ridiculous post of the day?!

Yes. this whole thread is getting beyond a joke.
People complain the forums are too bitchy this year. Childish is the would i would use!
And how do we know she def has what you are all saying, has this been made official by a doctor?

Either way in the big scheme of things it doesn't matter.

Ah well that'll explain why your posts are factually inaccurate.

Still digging huh?
Not content with how foolish you look already?

It's been well established that it is no such thing, however much you might wish it to be or how many times you repeat it.

Sorry, I'll ask her to tweet a picture of the doctor's note if it makes you happy.
There are very few childish posts on this thread IMO - I'll not mention which...

Wow have you checked what you have posted and then you talk about Childish. Unbelievable you could not make it up.

Particularly if it's viral pharyngitis it can lay you very low. Would it be time for a biology lesson about the mechanism of viral reproduction in a host?? But even if it's bacterial pharyngitis, beware. At the very least, it speaks of a lowered immune system and you ignore illness at your peril.

I can't see much has been made of it though -- as a sop towards those who take the hard-nosed non-medicalised view of illness. It was severe enough to keep them off ITT at the usual date. It kept them down to two-days training at a vital time in the competition. It's not been in the papers. We heard bugger all about it till yesterday. If this is milking it, sack the dairy maid.

They are comparable in that they are both medical conditions. No need at all for this rudeness.

Of course not. Are you sensible? I'm comparing invisible illness to invisible illness. How many brain cells do you have?

Yes, that's just the word I'd use to describe your posts in this thread.

Pharyngitis is completely different to a sore throat and makes you feel ill all over, so having to learn and repeatedly practice two full dances would be very difficult for Georgia to do. But of course, if you'd bothered to read through previous comments, you'd know that.

Wrong. One is temporary the other is lifelong.

They are not at all comparable and trying to say that they are is stupid and offensive.

I'm not saying they are directly comparable but on the context of the post it is clear to see the point that is being made.

You are increasingly absurd.

The point I was making, in sentences that explained themselves, is that there is a prejudice in our society against illnesses that do not come with, to quote lundavra (I think ) 'whopping great plaster casts'.

I'm in no way conflating -- bizarre suggestion -- pharyngitis and a mental condition. The obvious point of comparison is their invisibility to those inclined to rancour.
