Advice on switching to pay and go?

Its been a while since I've been down that route so not sure where to start. I have no O2 coverage here, so they are out of the question. Data is most important to me, When on holiday in Ireland this year I bought a 3.ie Sim, I topped up 20 euro and got unlimited data and got to keep the 20 euro as well. Does something similar exist in the UK? Would also like the option of Wifi calling.

Have you got an EE Limited Edition SIM yet?

You get 100GB free data for 2 months after you topup £10. The offer is available until 29th December.

After that, you could get a Three PAYG SIM. You can get an All in One 20 addon for £20 which gives you unlimited data, 300 minutes and 3000 texts.

Here's a comparison table. Three's 3-2-1 PAYG is the best value for calls, texts and data.

For data, EE and 3 would be most people's recommendation.
I'm fairly sure proper wifi calling, ie no app nonsense is only available on EE and Vodafone on contracts.
Could be worthwhile getting one of the free Christmas sims off the EE website for a try, £10 top up gives a free 100GB per month for 2 months.

So say on 3 I pay £20 and they take the £20 of me for data etc? On 3 Ireland I got to keep the 20 euro, I know this as its still on my phone, probably never use it again.

You buy the add-on, it costs £20. Three IE is a completely different company, unfortunately.

To add, the Three IE offer is only a promotion, not a permanent plan.

From their website:

Quote:
“The €20 top-up offering is promotional for a limited period only, until 30 June 2016. A fair usage policy applies. For full details see our full prepay plan terms.

**This 4G Access is a promotional offer for a limited period only, until 30 June 2016.

From 1 July 2016, 4G access will be available to purchase through an add-on from €4.99.”

3 is the cheapest for data at 1p / MB with a bonus 150 MB over 30 days after a topup (minimum £5). Just make sure that their coverage matches your needs.

There is a comprehensive list of PAYG tariffs on my web site.

I would say go for the 3, 3-2-1 sim, it’s what I’ve used since day one. Only had to use the Wifi app on two occasions with the local cell being off air for a few hours and it seems to be OK and I think they have improved it since I used it last.

My second choice if 3 are ropy in your area would be Delight mobile also charged the same as the 3-2-1 sim but run over the EE network.

The o2 wifi app isn't available to pay-go customers.
