I'm sure you know what that link is about, but I haven't a clue.

Do you know something about where Jay puts his hands?

Thankyou for pointing this out.

It wasn't a choreo choice I loved but I honestly didn't think it was a mistake.

They were under rehearsed so that lift could have been slicker but that's it.

I have to say I thought there was a mistake when looking at it live but running it back then it does indeed look like it was choreographed as Aliona goes into the cartwheel without hesitation and Jay turns to pick her up from that position.

Looks even more like a mistake now

there's something weird though, she sort of flips out of the cartwheel and maybe she doesn't land properly but she bounces down on her bottom as he runs round to pick her up - i think something went a bit wrong, maybe only her feet were supposed to touch the floor coming out of the cartwheel or something?

eta i think he missed a catch with his right arm under her back before he pulls her up

Looks as though something went wrong, hard to tell what was really intended though - the cartwheel was presumably planned, maybe they missed a hand grab (with Jay meant to lift Ali out of it).

No-one lost their heads in that bit though, I don't really follow the headache comments (unless there was more ).

Just had to find out what this thread was about after reading the title! Not only did she slip out of his grasp, it affected the next two lifts in the sequence, but they did recover well and it was definitely worth a 9.

Yes, but it is styled out afterwards and it still looks right in a way.

I rewatched this and at first I thought it deliberate and part of it. Then to me it looked like her arm kind of gave way and she fell back down and Jay ended up in an awkward position.

Either way it was a really good charleston.

In the small chance it was deliberate, it still a bit of a foolish risk to put a deliberate fall in without anyone knowing, as it just looks like you've messed up. But to me it really looked like a mistake.

That's great to watch - thank you.

Don't know if it was intentional or not. Aliona looked as if she'd landed on her back a bit heavily maybe? Or she was supposed to be there - would be fine in a Charleston.

Didn't make any difference to the overall dance though.

Their footwork at that speed?

Something clearly went wrong, it was a mess at that particular point, and Jay struggled to get her back into where she was supposed to be.

Personally I thought it was an average charleston anyway, and that's nothing against Jay, it's not his fault but Aliona's.

I thought it was a great dance...I thought that in the modern Charleston that you were meant to drop your partner.

Well she didn't choreograph it anyway, a specialist did.

I don't think so, as I said that happens, but it doesn't look like that, she was halfway up then she sort of went down on her arm and bounced on her back/bum. A drop would look more deliberate and not quite like that.

You have to laugh. It seems where favourites are concerned people only see what they want to see .

That drop looked appallingly clumsy and the judges should have commented on it and marked down accordingly .
