It amazes me how people just hear what they want to sometimes.

Leona at her best is pretty good, for example, but for whatever reason (bad miking, bad feedback through the earpiece, lack of practice with HeyNow) her performance last night was frightfully bad. EVERYONE was, and she was no exception.

I think she's loosing her voice (think Mariah)

Total bull! Ok, so you don't like her which is fair enough, but don't even bother with the "Cowell kept telling the public how good she was" crap because he didn't - she won because she WAS good.

sorry I totally misunderstood your original post, I thought you meant this year's "talent" were nowhere near as good as Leona and Ben. I agree Leona on her day was fabulous but I thought they both sounded awful last night.

I know Cowell apparently wished her well when she parted ways with syco however I heard Simon values loyalty, either that or I also wonder if he actually feels he let her down.

To be honest I didn't think Leona was that great last night. In fact, distinctively average. As if she's had her day...”

Simon and Leona are fine, Leona performed at an awards ceremony in London in honour of Simon a month or so back along with other Syco artists. She has always made it clear that she just didn't like the direction Syco wanted her to go in, but she has always expressed her gratitude to them and Simon.

Well we all know what people say for interviews and press releases MUST be true, right?

Leona (read her team) played up the split with Syco to promote I Am. For example, alluding that songs like I Am and Thunder were about her new found independence etc. Now that the album has underperformed, she is happy to be wheeled out for the X-Factor final like in previous years.

Yes but I think actions speak louder than words, Leona was invited to perform at a private awards ceremony which was in honour of Simon and she did, that clearly shows that there is no bad blood as either one could have stopped that.

Leona was great at her parts but Ben was trying to sing too high it didn't sound right.
Leona has definitely still got a amazing voice.

The Leona and Adam Lambert duet is amazing! I guess it is the fantastic result of putting two of the world's best vocalists together.

The duet was awful, Ben was constantly trying to sing in the same key as Leona, more so in Run. Putting Ben and Leona together was the problem. Leona sounded great with Adam Lambert. Also Run is a song that builds up and I suppose it didn't help with the arrangement diving straight into the height of the song either. She should of been solo and sang Run. This should of been the moment to show the british public what Leona can do, I suppose she couldn't refuse the duet with ben, I imagine it was forced onto her. I wish turned down Xfactor and done another performance on another show.

The Adam duet is tremendous. And it has had an excellent reception in the US.

It also shows up the limitations of the X Factor stage at Wembley.

Two talented singers with compatible voices, singing a great song on a stage that is geared up for musical performances with a good sound system to an audience who have come to listen to music.

Whereas Ben and Leona do not have compatible voices, they sang an awkward mash up of two totally incompatible songs in an arena with dodgy acoustics in an atmosphere which is competitive and more about hype than music.

Ben and Leona will never sound as good as Adam and Ben because they are not really as well suited, but they would have done much better in a different environment sticking to one song.

No wonder Adele pre-recorded her performance.

I don't even know why Leona did the duet with Ben. I know her career is on the wane but she is better than Ben Haenow. The guy isn't even a good winner in terms of X factor winners and his solo career has gone no where. Leona should have either dueted with one of the contestants or performed on her own. Really she should have been on the Sunday show where the bigger artists were like Adele, Coldplay and One direction. Her career is stagnant but she is still one of the most successful winners of the show and even though it was 7-8 years ago she had a hit international album and single. I can understand the US not treating her as a big star but in the UK she should still be treated as a relatively high profile star, hence her getting a solo slot on the Sunday show.

She always had to warble because she could never hold the notes.

With those two Clowns in the final, I can't give the public much credit at all.

The year Leona won was the best year in terms of competition i feel.

This was the year Leona and Ben Mills were giving absolute amazing performances and were both brilliant. Although I wanted Ben to win, I couldnt argue with how good Leona was.

Then the final was totally ruined when the public voted that wee nonce Ray into the final and Ben was knocked out in the Semi denying us one of the best final showdowns X Factor would have had....

Since then, the singers and winners have been average...

Ben sounded like he was trying to shout over her so no one could hear. I don't think she was as good as she has been in the past but it was a duet with Ben so it was always going to pretty bad. I was looking forward to seeing her until I heard it was a duet.

They should have let her perform by herself, it could've been some comeback moment but it wasn't at all.

I WAS RIGHT NEAR THE front and the duet didn't get the same crowd reaction as Reggie N Bollie and Craig David or Rita and Louisa. It wasn't wow enough. Total wrong people to do a duet together. Fleur and Little Mix was also better.

I hadn't heard a duet that bad since Arthur Mullard and Hylda Baker sang You're the one that I want.

Heynow isn't very good, but I don't think it's entirely fair to act like Leona doing a bad job was somehow automatically his fault. They both did ****** jobs.
