It does not mean it won't be showing though. Although it is possible it could be kept back for Easter

I'm looking forward to these

Gospel Christmas

Grammy-winning US jazz singer Gregory Porter and UK soul singer and musical theatre star Beverley Knight host a joyous celebration of Christmas – gospel style! Along with the internationally-acclaimed London Community Gospel Choir, the infectiously energetic House Gospel Choir and some special guest vocalists, they serve up a feast of uplifting festive treats at the beautiful St John at Hackney in London. A live audience at the church and the viewers at home can singalong to gospel renditions of Christmas favourites including Oh Holy Night, Joy to the World and Little Drummer Boy.

Pop Quiz

BBC Four revives classic 80s music programme Pop Quiz for two seasonal specials. Hosted by original presenter Mike Read, these new programmes will once again pit two teams of pop stars from the 80s against each other over several rounds of musical mirth, for a festive retro treat.

30 Million Minutes Live

BBC Four presents Dawn French in her critically acclaimed one woman show 30 Million Minutes. Filmed during its final West End run in October, 30 Million Minutes takes the audience on a journey through various delights and riches, with the odd irksome tribulation thrown in, as Dawn speaks about the lessons life has taught her and the things she knows to be true.

The evidence is there for all to see. She is already three quarters certifiably daft. The other quarter is utterly bewildered. And the remaining quarter simply can't do maths. With a sharp eye for comic detail and a wicked ear for the absurdities of life, this is a true Christmas treat to see the critically acclaimed comedian at her finest.

2016: A Year In The Life Of A Year

A one-off spoof review of the year show from the writer and director of Life Of Rock With Brian Pern, Rhys Thomas. The show will seamlessly re-edit real film and TV footage from 2016 in order to create a daft take on the year’s cultural and national events, counting down from January to December. No one is safe...

Alan Bennett’s Diaries

A candid look into the mind of Alan Bennett, Britain’s best-loved writer, who, at 82, shows no signs of slowing down. Inspired by his diaries, this film shows Bennett as he’s never been seen before – from New York, to his local library in Primrose Hill, to the Yorkshire village he calls home.

In intimate encounters, Bennett leafs through private photographs, reflects on modest beginnings, speaks about his relationship with his partner of 23 years, Rupert Thomas and with a satirical force that has never left him, also attacks the politics of today.

Life In The Snow

In a seasonal special, Gordon Buchanan meets the animals who make their home in the snow. He’ll reveal how these remarkable animals living in the world’s most spectacular winter wonderlands have conquered the cold. From the polar bear mother who gives her cubs the best possible start in life, to the owl that catches food hidden beneath a blanket of snow, and the plucky penguins that huddle together to keep warm. Along the way, Gordon will even reveal the surprising secrets of our favourite Christmas characters - those charming reindeer and our very own robin redbreast!

Casualty normally has a break over Xmas/New year period I think

Your right there Last year the last episode of Casualty Aired on the 19 December, which for Casualty was late, as the last few years before, there final episode of the year, was on the first Saturday in December, Until the first January in the new year.

Holby continues 52 weeks a year, and no doubts will be shown on Holiday Tuesday.

On Graham Norton I imagine his final show of the year wil be on Friday 30 December.

I love my football, But it cant be easily for the scheduliers at the BEEB, as I guess they would like to show other stuff.

Channel 5 will also have the same problem, but at least they can get there Coverage over by 10.30.

Which leads onto Would BBC Want to start MOTD as early as 10.10pm say, when Channel 5 coverage could overlap 20 minutes.

One of the reason for the lack of info on films is that the BBC want to promote their own programmes first hence they send a list to the TV mags which they want the mags to concentrate on more than the films

They could just push Graham Norton earlier - to around 9pm?

In all likelihood the final Graham Norton show will be on Friday 30th due to Match of the Day. However if I was in charge of BBC one I would get him to do the new year concert with a small chat show segment since it seems the BBC are trying to get him to be the face of Light Entertainment and if not this year I think in future years this will be what happens.

Anyway there is nothing to stop the BBC moving Match of the Day to BBC Two it did happen once when euro vision was on its just that they won't do that and I think it will be in its usual 10:30 slot finishing no later than 11:35. Channel 5 can do same if they wanted I think by moving it over to 5* or Spike and show it on new years day instead

It'll probably go: 10.20 MOTD; 11.40 New Year Live, apparently it's Robbie Williams.

I hope not but could be worse I suppose. Can actually see a short news bulletin between Match of the day and the new year concert. Personally I think I preferred the old new year live or save some costs and just network the hogmanay coverage from Scotland

Yes I'd forgotten about the BBC News bulletin. Perhaps 11.50 start for Robbie then. In 2011 the news was at 10pm with the lottery at 11.40 so who knows?

They will still have the game shows though as it something to put out against ITV reality rubbish and probably cheap to make

Yes. Match of the day won't be but I think it depends what's on before it last year Mrs Brown's boys the movie had that slot before Graham Norton was on his normal time so this could be interesting. If the BBC can show it yet I would put Spooks the greater good on at 9:00 with a 40 minute cut down version match of the day at 10:40 with the usual match of the day on at 9:00 am new years day
