THE SCHEDULING GAME

For the first time ever, enter those fantasy schedules into a competition! We all love devising fantasy schedules, so this year, I thought I'd launch a contest to try and establish just how good at scheduling we are!

If you would like to enter, choose any day or channel from the list below and simply try and work out what will air in what slot.

All you need do is create a schedule from 1pm until 11pm (give or take 20 minutes either side).

Then send me your schedule via Personal Message (so that your schedule doesn't influence others) between 5pm on Tuesday November 22nd and 5pm on Thursday November 24th.

The person who's schedule is closest to the actual schedule will win a brand new book of Radio Times Crossword puzzles.

If there is more than one winner, then all names will be put in a hat and a name selected randomly.

If there are no winners, then the person who included four correct programmes into their schedule will win. If there aren't any posters who scheduled four, then it will be three, then two then one.

I will not accept EastEnders, Emmerdale or Coronation Street as one of those "correct" programmes.

Also worth remembering is that whilst I realise that News has to be scheduled, you will only get recognition if your News programmes are scheduled in the same slots as the official schedules!

So, there you go. Now for the days that you can schedule programmes for:

CHRISTMAS EVE BBC1
CHRISTMAS EVE ITV
CHRISTMAS DAY C4
BOXING DAY BBC1
BOXING DAY ITV
HOLIDAY TUESDAY BBC1
HOLIDAY TUESDAY ITV

I would like ONE schedule per person. So you can choose any option from the above list, but just one!

All schedules that I receive via PM, will be posted on the forum on Thursday evening (24th November) (from 7pm).

So, the competition is now OPEN but for 48 hours only!

I noticed that. Shows how little they think of their subscribers.

Yes, I am still a subscriber. It's very very good at Christmas.I print myself PDF schedules of the stuff I am interested and the markers I have set up to pick up new stuff and stick them in One Drive so they are available across all my computers.

EDIT:
And for more advanced users - my markers execute a VB6 program which uses the AutoRemote/Join API to send notifications directly to my Android devices and Chrome.

FROZEN will be BBC1's big Christmas Day movie.

And, to help those who are devising schedules for the competition, the big Boxing Day movie on BBC1 is How to Train Your Dragon 2.

Monsters University will be shown on New Year's Day.

So, now we know!

The BBC have done really good with the films this year, something for everyone.

On the subject of Netflix they have a terrible selection this year. I hope they add more in December as everything listed in that article has been on Netflix since last year.

All 3 are quite good films, it depends on your idea of a good film though.

I would think the likes of Indiana Jones and one or two marvel films will be on over Christmas is well. Wonder if either BBC one or Two will show any of the Christmas special BBC Three made in the past such cuckoo or Bluestone 42.

I'd be surprised if they didn't show Shrek and Indiana Jones.

The channel’s big Boxing Day movie will be How to Train Your Dragon 2 while the New Year’s Day offering will be Monsters University and Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be screened on December 30.

Other movies to be shown for the first time on BBC1 over the festive period are Mr Peabody and Sherman, Penguins of Madagascar, Planes, Muppets Most Wanted and Tinkerbell and the Pirate Fairy.

No offense but I really hope they don't. I would love to see old black and white movies in the morning slot on BBC Two over the Christmas fortnight. CBBC has it's own channel so you can see all CBBC programmes on that channel. Having said this sadly as the BBC has only a limited number of old movies available under their licence, they may sandwich just 1 old film in between repeats or Signed Zone maybe, but would love to see a double bill of old movies every morning
