I think those are just some of the highlights of the 'premieres' being shown. Hopefully the BBC will still slot in the older classics between BBC One and BBC Two over the Christmas fortnight.

Totally agree. Leave CBBC on CBBC and put some classic movies on BBC2, kids will be well served by all the animated movies that will be on BBC1. Somebody mentioned Laurel & Hardy many posts back and it would be great to have a couple of their shorts on the mornings like they used to do. Unlikely though.

Edit : read that too quickly! Yes subscribers should receive their copies on Saturday

As regards Christmas issue :

They are sent out in batches so anytime between Monday 5th and Friday 9th December.

The RT Extra in this weeks subscriber's copies says expect a loud thump on December 9th but I think they're just covering themselves.

Do you have the opportunity to series link with the Windows version and is there anyway of setting up reminders?

Yes absolutely I'd love to see Laurel and Hardy return to BBC Two this Christmas. Sadly though I don't think the BBC have currently got the licence to show them. I'd also love to see the likes of Abbott and Costello or the Marx Brothers films. I know the BBC should have a couple of these. They shown A&C Meet Captain Kidd as recent as 2011 and the Marx Brothers film ' A Day at the Races' was also shown in 2014. You can't beat those old vintage comedy classics over Christmas.

Does anyone know if we'll see the early provisional Christmas listings released on DigiGuide today? Or will those be revealed tomorrow? I'm sure one year they were released on the Wednesday, but can't remember 100%

The first provisional schedules are sent to the publishers today by 2pm - so it is possible that there may be some listings announced on digiguide

While I agree with you in a way I think the fact they is no longer any CBBC slots means that they will struggle to fill up the morning on both channels without resorting to some of the normal daytime shows or the same films they always show. I think they is room for both classic films on BBC Two and one or two children programmes without the CBBC or cbeebies branding on BBC one. At the very least the cbeebies panto deadly 60 and one of the dick and Dom programmes will probably sneak into the schedule somewhere on one of the mornings. It would be nice of Laural and Hardy was showing though.

Yes I agree. If BBC Two is to show CBBC and CBeebies, I would like them to be shown from 6am until 8am maybe and show classic movies from say 8am until 11am.

What I'd hate to see is for BBC Two to revert to a schedule from 6am until 11.30am of CBBC, although to be fair even prior to 2013 when the daytime changes kicked in across BBC One and Two, every Christmas BBC Two only ever used to show CBBC until 8.30am and then BBC Two would show documentary repeats and factual programmes with a couple of films late morning/early afternoon.

I don't see any harm doing it over the holidays and I think simulcasting one of the children's channels on a morning for a few hours could be a good thing for BBC Two to do permanently if money has to be saved it could be used to buy the likes of Laural and Hardy to show again
