Ah thanks
So Christmas Eve has 101 Dalmations, Christmas Day The Lion King and Boxing Day Sleeping Beauty.
At last ITV are investing in some quality animated Disney films, instead of BTTF and another repeat of Happy Feet.

Sunday is the highest ratings of the week atm with Strictly and Planet Earth II. It makes sense to launch it between them both.

They did it last year didn't they?

Yes. Couldn't remember if the 7.27 launch was last year of the year before. The ident is used for far too long imo. Should be for the duration of the Xmas listings.
Would I be correct in thinking that the Christmas Radio Times listings start on 24th Dec? If not then the Christmas Issue will miss out listings for NYE & NYD which kind of goes against tradition.

No- the Christmas RT covers 17-30 Dec - which it always does (bar 1982) when Christmas Day is on a Sunday. So it is sticking to tradition

For a while now when Christmas Day falls on a Sunday the double issue has covered 17-30 December and that's what all the TV magazines double issues will be this year.
.............and next year we may get at 16-29 Dec Issue ! Weeks 51 & 52 of 2017.
I can't wait to see if Digiguide provides us with any revised listings this evening. It's normally this second update which is the best as it's often totally different to the first batch of provisional schedules with films moved around to different days and often a load of new films added to the schedules.
Though I think Frozen will stay as the big Christmas Day movie on BBC One

Interesting, I hope so since I can now see until Christmas Eve.
Are we getting a Still Game special?
Last week i e mailed a TV listing mags to ask why there was no New Year in this years Double issue - well i have finally had a reply
Our double issue has always followed the final two weeks of the broadcasters calendar which this year is weeks 51 and 52 ending on Friday December 30th
regrading next year - it is a bit early to be sure but depends on the broadcasters either having 52 or 53 weeks in their calendar
I remember on the year of the Millennium, the TV Times offered a sneak peak to the New Year's Day schedule in the Christmas double issue that year (when the New Year's Eve fell on the Friday).
Not sure if they have done this in previous years. But I guess the TV listings magazines don't have the New Year's schedules in time for when they go to press with the Christmas double issue.
This year's New Year TV listings magazines will be better than usual as we get a Bank Holiday on the Monday so it's a nice long weekend of holiday programmes in the New Year listings magazines
just run a manual update of dig - a lot of satellite channel schedules confirmed but no changes to the main channels - but not sure if this is the evening update or lunchtime one
ITV3 full of carry on films and On The Buses films but will on Christmas Eve repeat Sound of Music Live
Have just had the email from Radio Times regarding delivery of subscriber copies
Issye due out tomorrow - delivery Nov 29 as usual
Issue due Dec 1 - delivery on December 6 - as usual
Christmas Issue - delivery due by December 10
New Year Issue - delivery due Dec 23
If these dates are correct then they can forget any subscription next year!

They wont be showing the Christmas Day 1982 edition as one of the presenters was Dave Lee Travis

Good scheduling I think for The Sound of Music Live. Should be capable of 600k-1m in that slot.

Yep. Was aware of that. I'm not expecting TOTP82 to be out of slot over Xmas as the usual tx dates fall outside the big three days. However, I'm hoping BBC4 will show some old Xmas Day shows as per.

I must watch it this time as Sky deleted my recording. Looking forward to Hairspray Live to.
ITV3 has Disney's A Christmas Carol scheduled for 2:30pm on Friday 23rd but I think it will be the Ross Kemp version which is brilliant.
