I meant to say I got a copy of last year's Radio Times Christmas special in the Midlands on the first Saturday. That was the first time I've ever got it on the Saturday - I've normally had to wait for the Monday or Tuesday. I guess it helps that we get the same edition as London.

Hoping for the same this year!

No room for it in the Harry Potter marathon.

If the timings work with what BBC1 are doing, it might be worth moving Love of Dogs into the teatime slot on Christmas Day after The Lion King, bumping the rest of the lineup back a bit and running the Hilda tribute on Boxing Day at 6pm.

They likely have the same issues I do with our email server, AOL in their attempt to crack down on spam reject emails from pretty much everywhere. There are a ridiculous number of hoops to jump through in order to deliver email to @aol addresses - we have to send via Gmail servers in order to make sure it gets there, otherwise it gets rejected.

First they were complaining the email server IP address did not pass the reverse lookup, so I went through the effort of getting that sorted and now they have found something else to complain about. The IP address of the mail server is in NO spam lists, and we use both SPF and DKIM - and they are still aren't happy.

I was surprised to see Paul's show missing from Xmas Day.

Mine arrived today, but I blame RT for sending it in a Second Class postage bag.

It would probably have been better if Digiguide hadn't bothered sending any updates tonight, the ITV mess is confusing! Unless of course ITV2 are planning to simulcast ITV1 for no reason at all - which is clearly not the case.

Poundland has been going since April 1990, over 26 years. With the best will in the world the time had come when they had to meet inflation.

I certainly hope so. I seem to recall there being a 'Hogmanay' special a few years ago that was just shown on BBC Scotland. don't recall it being shown in England though

A few years ago BBC4 starting showing TOTP from 76. one episode each week. We've moved on to 81 now but many episodes are missing. Obviously Saville but also the DLT one's. At this point someone was most likely given the job of reviewing them before airing and then off went Diddy Devious David Hamilton, who, in earlier screened episodes can be seen doing what can best be described as blatantly oggling the breasts of young girls around him while presenting the next disc.

we are on to 82 - we had 81 up unitl June and then we moved to 82 at the moment we are in October 82 so it looks as if to fill the blanks they are fitting two years into one - but if you watch you see some of the DJ's (Peter Powell especially) with his arm draped around an audience member

I wonder if at some point in the future they'll bring in that 'Black Mirror' technology that instantly blurs out undesirable people You'll then just see a blur with distorted speech inbetween each song - unless of course Gary Glitter is playing and then it will all be blurred!

I think we need to put things in perspective a little. I think we are using our modern over sensitive way of thinking onto a society that was freer and more care free in the 80's. Putting arms around someone is not in the same league as Savile. If putting arms around someone was terrible, we'd all be guilty! Besides, Peter Powell got his punishment. He married Anthea Turner!

The BBC seem very hoyty toyty towards Christmas this year. There has been no mention of it since last Tuesday on their website and they have no trailer out yet despite ITV having one and playing it regularly. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the schedules were kept out of the public domain until the weekend.

Yes I'm really surprised we haven't seen any updated BBC schedules yet. This is the latest they have ever released their revised Christmas schedules (or at least since I've been a Digiguide subscriber since 2003).

Hopefully we'll get an update later today, perhaps before 2pm and then we'll see the confirmed schedule tomorrow or Thursday.

Your right about BBC - nothing about any specials from BBC Scotland Wales and NI (i suppose Scotland is more geared to Hogmany than Christmas) but very odd ther has been no press releases from the nations

Would like to see a sports review of the year show between Christmas and New Year on BBC. SPOTY will have 16 profiles to get through and the chance of seeing any sports narrative on the year in a 2 hour show will be slim to zero.

A 2 hour sports review with all the good stuff that the BBC has in the can from 2016 and an anchor like Gaby Logan in an editing room I think would make for a good program and find an audience. Olympics, Wimbledon, US Masters and Open golf, Six Nations rugby, Premier League and FA Cup football, Euro 2016, World Snooker, rugby league to name but a few.

Urghhh! No thanks! There is enough sports on all through the year without the need to show it at Christmas too! it's bad enough Boxing Day, New Year's Eve/Day has to be ended with Match of the Day instead of a film without having even more sports! I wouldn't object to an Olympics review, but that should be all!

You should have just gone to Tesco's and bought it there! I saw one of the type you have ordered (7ft Regency) for £45.00 in my local store! Hopefully you'll get in time to decorate for Christmas!
