can anyone tell me how many copies the Xmas Radio Times sells these days?
Back in the 1950s it was about 9 million. These days about 2.5 million. Normal weekly sale is about 700,000, TV Times about 250,000. No subscription copy today.

anyone on netflix?Am going to redeem my Radio Times free month trial today was wondering - is it easy to use. good choice of viewing etc - recommended?
It's easy to use and a good selection but there's nothing very Christmassy other than 2 or 3 films.

Local Tesco in Staffordshire has Christmas Radio Times at £4.50, Christmas Tv Times at £3.00, also Christmas editions of Total Tv Guide and Tv & Satellite Week.

Yeah I noticed that. I'd have thought they'd add quite a few Christmassy ones - they'd be popular!

Not got my subscription copy of Dec 10-16 yet either. Very frustrating. I got 3-9 Dec last Saturday, so it'll be a minimum of 9 days between, even though there's only 6 days between the shops getting them!

New users always get a free month trial anyway don't they?

Anyway, yes it's easy to use. There is a pretty good choice, especially when your new to the service. And yes I'd recommend it.

No digital copy available on the RT app yet. Seems odd that you can buy it physically but not digitally.

I'm on Netflix - it's not the easiest service to find something to watch - largely because the very short descriptions given to films make them sound like B Movies - even films that you have seen before and know they are great - sound absolutely terrible the way Netflix describe them.

I find using the 3rd party service https://uk.newonnetflix.info/ to be absolutely invaluable to knowing what is new and leaving on Netflix, and if you consume your news using an RSS reader, they have an RSS feed.

Netflix mini descriptions have a tendency to sound a bit like Buzzfeed titles.

For anyone who is wanting a bit more choice this Christmas - I thoroughly recommend getting hold of a Google Chromecast (which PC World were recently selling for £18 and Tesco for £20) - we have 3 of them.

Apart from the constant offers you get provided by Google for owning one, we got started with Netflix because of the original offer we got with the Chromecast, and we got started with NowTV because of the offer provided.

With NowTV if you want to watch Sky programmes without subscribing to Sky - it's very good value, and if you go through he cancellation process after you have paid for your first month - they usually automatically try and keep you by offering you quite competitive offers (I am currently on a Movies for £1 a month offer, which ends around the 27th December)

With Google Chromecast - you can currently watch:
BBC iPlayer, ITV Player and All4 on your non smart TV.
And you can get subscription services: Netflix and NowTV.

You will also get frequent offers on % off films with Google Play and % of rentals plus free movies and free rentals from time to time.

Finally - Westworld fans who may of missed the news, don't forget Westworld is being aired at 2am on Monday on Sky so it airs in the US and the UK at the same time. (Us NowTV subscribers will probably have to wait until it is about halfway through the broadcast before we get access to it)

Happy Saturday everyone!

PS: Netflix subscribers who want some background TV - the 8 hour train journey from Bergen to Oslo is actually pretty good to have on while wrapping presents https://www.netflix.com/title/80119525

Yes, but some shops seem to have not planned again and getting them out during the day after today's newspapers are out, but some seem to have some listings but not RT.

I couldn't get it early around 7 am but did later in the morning when out shopping.

Wasn't aware of that website, I'll use that myself to keep an eye on Netflix comings and goings.
