I was surprised to find the Christmas RT on sale in Tesco (Unthank Road, Norwich, if anyone cares) when I popped out this afternoon. That rather snuck up on me!

I quite like the cover, but it does feel strange not having the New Year in it.

Anyone got a picture of the cover of the Christmas TV Times?

I can RT losing casual buyers this year with the ridiculous price.

Well, just idly browsing eBay for vintage Christmas RTs and I catch my first glimpse of this year's (I'd rather have seen it in a shop or on my doormat in due course)...

Some chancer is selling a copy for £7.50!!

So, no Christmas launch on the BBC tonight! No trailer on BBC1! No mention of Christmas at all. Have they forgotten?

Perhaps we need to re-record Do They Know It's Christmastime - to remind them?

Lol

Same every year...weeks of anticipation and then when you get it and open it up it is the same old rubbish. Maybe it is my age but there seems to be a real lack of effort compared to previous years on the BBC. Where are the seasons of movies that used to be on like Hammer horror or the old comedy shorts like Laurel and Hardy or Harold Lloyd?. How may times do we have to be subjected to the Indiana Jones trilogy?

Potential Spoiler (if you haven't read the listings)

Why do the BBC insist on showing
Spoiler
Shrek The Halls
every Christmas? Didn't think much of it when it first aired but to show it every year for 10 years. I can't see the normal films on the schedule, have I missed them?

Probably because it's a handy length filler!

Shrek the Third is on 29th December

I thought it might but somebody pointed out those schedules aren't finalised yet, so either not or some TBA's.

It's a TV Film - it's not A Christmas Carol just "Christmas Carol"

From digiguide

Seasonal romantic comedy. No-one plans Christmas as well as Carol, but when a handsome man comes to town and challenges her traditional holiday views, Carol must learn how to compromise, even if it means facing an unexpected romance.

NBC has aired It's a Wonderful Life every Christmas for about the last 50 years and it still gets good ratings, it's a ritual of American television.

Disney's Into The Woods has just been added, which is sort of Christmassy.
