That kinda makes sense, As there is virtually a full programme of fixtures on New Years Eve, due to there being another round on 2 Jan.

I guess TV is back to normal on 3 Jan, I always remember my dad saying though, the likes of BBC1 would then put loads of films on

I've just picked up the Radio Times double issue in Portlaoise. Southern Ireand. It's usually at least a week after they go on sale in London before we get them so a record I think. I also got the TV Times[ I collect christmas editions of this and the RT] and the local RTE Guide.

The RTE Guide is interesting as the cover is a fold out double page cover with some of the stars who are on this Xmas depicted as Dickensian characters. It's the best cover they've ever done in my view. You can see it here https://twitter.com/LaureatenanOg
Scroll down and click on it for a larger image.
Notice how little text there is compared to other guides.

Just got the Digital Version of RT, took ages to Download I guess it is cause everybody is downloading.

Got it for £4.49 so a whole 1p cheaper, hippy yay yay hippy.

I like the fact the Days have little festive things in the strap.

Wish they would give us full schedules on the main days, but hey those days are probably over.

What makes me chuckle on Christmas Day is, 3pm the Queen, is in little text, while 3.10pm Frozen is in normal text, it makes the Queens speech not seem important lol

Yes BBC One is showing Homes Under the Hammer in the morning on Monday 2nd Jan which is crazy as this is supposed to be a Bank Holiday. ITV1 however are making an effort and showing 'Superman' on the Monday morning.

But on Tues 3rd Jan it's business as usual across all channels by the looks of the provisional schedules. It's almost as though Christmas never happened

I have sent an email to Charlotte Moore about the BBC's anti-Bank Holiday schedules.

Hoorah, finally got my copy in Liverpool today, fruitless search yesterday!! Now perusing it with a nice glass of Taylor's Ruby Port (a Christmas tradition to read the RT double issue with a decent glass or two of port) and also started my annual attempt at the cryptic crossword in the back, 3 clues answered and around 60 or more to go, wish me luck!!

Anyone think its time for a new-look Radio Times with a new fresh layout?

You will probably get the reply that Bank Holidays are now just normal working days for the majority of viewers and that's why you don't get a special schedule anymore.

Having said that the schedules haven't been confirmed yet so may still change.

Just for fun how about naming the channel with the worst Christmas Day schedule. I nominate Really, 13 hours of Homes Under The Hammer from 8am - 9pm!

Just wondering if someone can post the provisional schedules for New Years Eve and Day that have been put on digiguide? I don't have access to that unfortunately. Thanks in advance

The Food Network - from 6am on Christmas Day to 3am on Boxing Day of nothing but Man v Food. (Sadly there doesn't appear to be an episode with a full Christmas dinner - and I mean, say, a 14lb turkey with sprouts, stuffing, vegetables, roast potatoes etc. )

That looks dire to be honest compared to what was on in the 80s and early 90s.

The digital copy is finally available on the RT app today - priced at £4.49. A total 1p saving.

I started my 30 day trial, so I got it for free. It's actually quite easy to use (I like how the contents page has clickable boxes to take you straight to the date you're interested in).

I still like having my paper copy, but having a free digital edition on my iPad is good too!
