Is ITV schedule on Digi-Guide still TBA for NYD?
Yes, nearly all of it. We know that ITV Racing Live is 1pm - 3.30pm.

Thanks guys.

Based on ITV press centre having released the press pack, we were speculating in the ratings thread, that ITV might be launching new WWII drama The Halycon on NYD long with Ninja Warrior UK.

Anything would bebbetter than last years soap marathon and soap quiz. Launch NYD 2017 with a strong schedule.

Got my Christmas RT in Cambridge yesterday at Tesco. They had it in a special cardboard display unit near the tobacco kiosk well away from the magazine aisle. I'm looking forward to reading it on Sunday morning in bed with a strong espresso or two.

I've got my Christmas Radio Times today in North East England and normally it's in the shops a day later than further south.

From David Hodges Reader Services at Radio Times

All copies should have reached you on the same day as it was in the shops so I am sorry that your copy has not. I can only attribute this to the busy postal service. Certainly some subscribers received their copies a day earlier than the retail on sale date.

For Christmas the logistics of producing six different region and nation copies means that we are unable to start distributing the subscription copies until all of the editions have completed printing , the full UK on sale date is 7 December and subscription copies will be posted on the Tuesday and Wednesday and so you should receive your copy in good time. It is unfortunate we cannot send all retail and subscription copies at the same time at Christmas but as we are printing nearly 2 million copies it is just not possible to “store” these copies for 6 days and therefore we send them to retail as soon as they become available.

In answer to your question is this the new norm? No it isn’t. Your copy will always reach you (subject to postal delays – which are out of our control) on the Tuesday – the same day as publication.

Please let me know when you receive it.

Bought my Xmas issue on Sunday. Next week's issue seemed to get a bit lost on the newsstands and I found it squirreled away on the bottom shelf in Smiths yesterday.

Anyone think its time for a new-look Radio Times with a new fresh layout?
I wish they'd drop all the recipes, games and other guff. It's supposed to be a TV & radio mag. There are channels not getting listings to make way for the junk.

Obviously printing 2m copies in a very short of space of time is a difficult task for Radio Times but I do think they need to review how they are treating subscribers.

When your waiting until Tuesday at the earliest to get your subscription copy despite your local shop having had copies since Saturday, it can leave a bitter taste in the mouth.

But the programmes listed don't begin for ages, and the Double Issue is available much much earlier than normal, so what exactly is the problem?

That's not exactly the point.

As a subscriber you should expect to get your copy as soon as possible and not be hanging on a several days after they first hit the shops. It just seems like Radio Times are taking subscribers a bit for granted.

It's not the end of the world but I'd just expect a little bit more.

See Marke09's post above, they're not being posted until Tuesday or Wednesday this week and as they're sent 2nd class the earliest anyone can get their subscription copy is Thursday.

Anyone spotted any hidden gems or rare repeats on the obscure tv channels and radio this year? I very much enjoyed the retro kids tv night on BBC four last year.

I'd be interested in a repeat of Sherlock's victorian episode to set the mood for the new season ....

Many subscribers are getting RT for £1.30 an issue so cant really complain if it comes a few days late.
