That's not exactly the point.

As a subscriber you should expect to get your copy as soon as possible and not be hanging on a several days after they first hit the shops. It just seems like Radio Times are taking subscribers a bit for granted.

It's not the end of the world but I'd just expect a little bit more.
Hear, hear.
You are quite correct, it certainly isn't the end of the World, but I like the excitement of seeing the front page without having seen it in the shops or being discussed online for nearly a WEEK before my subscription copy eventually turns up (still hasn't arrived yet!).

Anyone spotted any hidden gems or rare repeats on the obscure tv channels and radio this year? I very much enjoyed the retro kids tv night on BBC four last year.
Yesterday has got some good, old comedies on most nights over the Christmas break including Steptoe & Son, Blackadder, The Thin Blue Line, Goodnight Sweetheart and One Foot In The Grave.

Can anyone tell me when the 'Peter Pan Goes Wrong' show with David Suchet is going to be on please? It was mentioned in RT a couple of weeks ago, appears on various net sites as coming, but I can't find it in the listings. (I have to rely on the magazines, as I don't have these sophisticated preview apps that seem to be around).

Data protection has been overcome and I've finally received a reply to my e-mail asking why Radio Times is now being sent by Second Class post. The reply told me they can confirm it is never sent by Second Class post!

I've replied with photos of the Second Class postage wrappers I've retained from the last two issues.

That's interesting because they told Marke09 that it has been sent by Second Class post since June!

According to the reply i had today previous issues should have been received before the shops - so even it is busy at PO waiting SIX days for it to come is beyond a joke - it is RT fault as if you look on the email we had from them about posting dates everything was as normal - I think the Radio Times doesnt know what its subscription department is up to

I have just looked at the promotion I responded to that promised "12 Issues for £1. Sent to you by First Class Post!"

They are clearly breaching trading standards because they have provided false advertising.

Nope, most definitely NOT a repeat - it's the only reason we subscribed to NowTV in the first place and I've been waiting patiently for the Sky Stella twitter account to make any mention of when it was going to be on. Suffice to say I have known for at least week now when it was going to be aired and while they have made mention of the fact there is a Christmas special - they still haven't tweeted the date. However I tweeted the date and included Craig Gallivan in the tweet and he liked it

I gather that they have have either been filming or finished filming the next series too - I really hope so!

(PS - I assumed that was why they had re-run Stella on Sky1 from the beginning - to catch people up for the Christmas episode)

Wow, that's early post! I'm lucky if I even see a postman before 11.30am!

Hopefully others will get their copies today

Many thanks. That's why I can't find it in the various editions of Radio Times floating round the house!

New Year's Eve Saturday 31st December 2016

BBC1

<daytime/early evening snipped>

9.35pm Mrs Brown's Boys
10.05pm BBC News, Weather
10.25pm The Graham Norton Show
11.25pm Robbie Rocks Big Ben Live
12.00 New Year Fireworks
12.15am Robbie Rocks Big Ben Live (Continued)
12.40am TBA
1.40am TBA
 2.20am TBA
The News seems rather late for NYE.

I was trying to work out how the Scottish variations would fit in and looked to last year for inspiration. The late news was at 9pm across all regions.

But assuming the news remains fixed, it's likely the Scottish variations from immediately pre-news will be:

9.35pm (Scottish-themed documentary)
10.05pm BBC News
10.25pm Reporting Scotland
10.30pm Still Game/Chewin' The Fat/A.N. Other Comedy
11.00pm Only an Excuse?
11.30pm Hogmanay Live
12.30am Mrs Brown's Boys
1.00am The Graham Norton Show
2.00am TBA (likely a standup show)
2.40/3am Joins BBC News

My parents have just mentioned they had their Christmas edition Radio Times delivered today.

Our local library zinio has added the Satellite and TV times and the Christmas edition is up there. Not a great magazine.
The layout leaves large blank blocks in in the listings with the way they line them all up by time.

Peter Kay's Comedy Shuffle on Christmas Eve will have a brand new Car Share clip filmed especially for this Christmas. It's only 3 minutes long but is probably the closest we'll ever get to a Car Share Christmas Special.
