You obviously dont remember the 1983, 1988, 1994, 2005 and 2011 editions of the Christmas TV Guides ?

And FYI next year could be a 16-29 December issue!

This years cover of RT reminds me of the 1992 cover which is one of my all time faves.

The reason is because Christmas Day is a Sunday so as is usual (or has been since 1977!) this year's issue covers 17-30 December.

This is because when it went to print the New Year schedules hadn't been confirmed, and because there are more Christmas related programmes in the week up to Christmas than there is in the first week of January with most channels reverting to near normal schedules from January 2nd.”

Apologies for missing that.

Expect the sorry your RT is late due to Post Office strike - the postmen are NOT on strike to begin with and if they wanted they could post the RT this week

Because no-one will notice her as they have had too much food and drink.

Not on any Freeview channels but Sky Movies Disney is changing to Sky Movies Pixar from Christmas Eve and Up is on there at 8pm Christmas Day. It's repeated on the same channel most days afterwards at various times.

Today was, for me, officially the first day of Christmas as I allowed myself to at last rip the cellophane of my Christmas RT.

Forgotten that they drop the Sudoku for this edition. Made up for it by doing the crossword in pencil first using the quick clues before settling down to do the cryptic clues which should take me well past Christmas if I avoid the urge to use any of the online solver sites I have bookmarked.

Was surprised that the write up of the Eric Idle / Brian Cox History of the Universe programme failed to mention that Eric is often a guest on The Infinite Monkey Cage radio programme and indeed wrote Brian and Robin Ince a theme song for it. TIMC is broadcast on Radio 4 but all the old episodes are available as podcasts and are an excellent sideways look at topics scientific.

Maybe it was part of an agreement that enticed her to come back to the UK to do a series for the BBC?

Since it's the only schedule that's substantially different to the network, BBC1 Scotland on Hogmanay from 7.35pm is:

7.35pm Reporting Scotland
7.50pm Pointless
8.40pm Casualty
9.30pm BBC News
9.45pm Reporting Scotland
9.50pm Hogmanay Live preview
10.00pm Wha's Like Us
11.00pm Only an Excuse?
11.30pm Hogmanay Live
12.30am Mrs Brown's Boys
1.00am The Graham Norton Show
2.00am BBC News

So BBC1 Scotland gets its own national news bulletin at 9.30pm. Presumably this will be an "extra", top-of-the-hour-style bulletin on BBC News as well (Reporters starts at 9.45pm on that channel).
