Wow. If I hadn't stopped buying the RT early this year I certainly would've done now. That will be £10 a month, I only pay £7.49 a month for Netflix!

Appreciate there's ever-increasing printing costs etc, but that seems quite a lot of money for people to pay if primarily buying it for TV listings which are available from a greater number of different sources than they used to be. I'm sure though not everyone does buy the RT just for that, I know my mum has always liked the detailed BBC radio listings in it and others presumably enjoy the various features etc.

The RT seems to increase its price automatically at the beginning of the year regardless of cost - inflation is only running at 1%. That isn't true of other publications who must have roughly the same production costs (albeit smaller circulations).

2.50 for the RT? I only buy it occasionally but that will reduce even more now.

In 2012 RT was £1.40
in 2013 RT was £1.60
in 2014 RT was £1.80
in 2015 RT was £2.00
in 2016 RT was £2.30
in 2017 RT is £2.50

They keep saying costs are rising, yet if you subscribe they can suddenly afford to give you 40% off !!

£1.20 in 2011, so it's more than doubled in price in six years. I realise their strategy is to push more readers to subscribe, and there are more pages now, but there was no great clamour for the Your RT guff between the radio pages and the back page. It's all stuff they've done at various times in the past, and dropped because there was little demand.

The cost this year prevented me from buying the Christmas issue, best part of £5 to flick through and say 'rubbish, rubbish, seen it'

How come the Christmas editions of the TV guides were printed for 17-30th when they could of printed them so that they covered the new year and bank holiday?

It's been answered on this thread further back but to save you searching :

Because they have been since the 1977 issue when Christmas Day falls on a Sunday.

There are more Christmas programmes in the week leading up to Christmas than the week after.

When the TV Guides went to press the schedules for the first week of January had not been finalised.

It should of been added to this year's bingo contest.

In case I forgot to come on Tommorrow or Sunday, I would like to wish all threaders a Happy Christmas.

2016 has been a dire year for most, hope everybody can have as good a Christmas as possible.

And remember there is only just over a week left, until we can finally say goodbye to 2016

Already asked and answered many times previously in this thread. Basically it's always been this way when Christmas Day falls on a Sunday, there are also more Christmas themed shows in the week before Christmas week than the one after it.

Can anyone give me any info on how I cancel my RT subscription (I got the £1 offer but don't want my first DD to go out).

On the account it just says:

Account Number: RTLA******
Status: Live
Subscription Type: PERSONAL RENEWAL
Expiry Date: Expired
Issues Left: 29 issues remaining
Payment Type: Direct Debit
Next Issue Due: 10/01/2017

With 2 buttons below that for 'renew subscription' which is unclickable and the other 'view issue calendar'. I can't find anywhere to cancel - is it a con so I have to call them?

They should have sent you written confirmation quoting your account/reference number if you can't find that :

Get the Direct Debit reference number from the DD details on your bank account and quote this in an email cancelling your subscription to buysubscriptions@servicehelpline.co.uk

Don't forget to then cancel your direct debit with the bank.
