It would surely depend on whether Caroline Aherne is fit enough to write it.

Great news.

Do you know how they work the tickets out?

As in is it a waiting game to see if you get some tickets or can you book them and then know you will get in?

Looks like they are general tickets which are issued as soon as you book online.

These won't guarantee you entry though as they will always overbook to ensure a full audience. (Many don't turn up on the day because the tickets are free).

I've found if you arrive at the venue 2-3 hours before the doors open you'll get in, but it's a lot of waiting around.

Group bookings are probably given priority I would think.

Hello everyone!
Hope 2016 has been lucky for you all so far and continues to be so.

Very excited to be here and back on the thread. I've bookmarked it so I'll be sure to check in. Good to see you all

- Aaron

(P.S. Is Frozen a dead cert for the BBC big film this year? and possibly ident)

Yo! Welcome back to the thread Aaron! Lots to look forward to between now and Christmas. Hope you'll stick around.

I think you're right - IF Frozen is BBC1's film this year, then yes, I think an ident centred around that is very likely, but part of me thinks Sprout Boy will return in a revamped film trailer. I guess we'll find out in just over 6 months time! But, it's a big IF though re Frozen. I can see a scenario where all terrestrial channels will want to show it. And, with the BBC not really allowed to engage in bidding wars these days, it really is a case of "Spot where Frozen ends up!"

Thing is, when anyone mentions "Frozen", I automatically think of Madonna's number 1 single rather than the film. Perhaps it's because of my age. I'm more inclined to listen to a Madonna record than watch a little girl's film!

Not out of sync where I sit

As I understand it, something to do with the agricultural calendar. By the time mid/late August arrives it is getting cooler across Scotland and certainly getting darker earlier, particularly the more north you go.

Also the fact that we have always had a different, seperate education system.

Today, I realised that, inadvertently, the Quiz this year begins on the very same day that the Olympic Games comes to an end!

Next Sunday, 5th June, the fourth and final (and best) part of the 1st Prize will be revealed.

Enjoy your Bank Holiday.

The film situation is interesting because (and especially with the BBC) film acquisitions are so secretive these days. Time was film deals for BBC or ITV were trumpeted in the tabloids with big headlines.

Obviously with the BBC there is this issue of bidding wars and Hollywood acquisitions, but it tends to be forgotten that terrestrial screenings are very much a tired end of the line affair these days after cinema/dvd/satellite etc. They simply don't carry the weight they did for ratings, so Im assuming that value is taken into account when money changes hands.

I had the idea that the BBC had deals with Disney and DreamWorks which have provided a number of appropriate screenings in their only real film season at Christmas-but no idea if this is continuing. Maybe Frozen is so big-it might be separated and subject to individual bidding rather than as part of a deal.

I can just imagine the BBC and ITV fighting over the film rights and just at the moment ITV bid slightly more and the BBC realised they could no longer compete, Charlotte Moore bursts into melodious anger, shouting "Let it Go! Let it Go!!!!"

I always find the second half of the year goes by very much more quickly than the first. It's like slogging up a hill through the first half then freewheeling down in the second! We'll soon have the Christmas in July events, then September with Halloween and Christmas goods appearing in the shops, Halloween itself, Bonfire Night, the 'Legendary Christmas Double Issue' ... then it's Christmas!
