That's so true. We're still waiting for something resembling summer, and soon it will be autumn!

You know something else that is scary? After midnight, we'll be closer to New Year's Day 2017 than New Year's Day 2016.

Yikes!!

I've still got a 'Happy Holidays with Frank and Bing' that I recorded last Christmas eve, that I haven't watched. It seems like yesterday that I recorded it.

More than half way from last Christmas to next Christmas already! Doesn't seem two minutes since we were having our Christmas dinner.

So sad to hear about the passing of Caroline Aherne, who wrote and appeared in The Royle Family.
One of my favourite shows of the last 15 years. Always looked forward to the Christmas specials.

Absolutely heartbroken to hear about the passing of Caroline Aherne who was the voice of Gogglebox, a fantastic script writer and brilliant actress as Mrs Merton and, of course, in The Royle Family.
The episode where her character Denise goes into Labour and she is sitting with her Dad in the bathroom always brings me to tears and the Christmas episodes always made me cry with laughter.

Are we agreed that The Royle Family will die with her? so very sad

Would be nice to think that during her illness she had sufficient strength to write a script with the help of Craig - but then again her character was central to the plot so cant see it happening

RIP Caroline, hopefully the BBC will shown a Repeat of one of her Christmas Specials at Christmas, I know GOLD will and do most weeks, but would be nice of the BBC.

Wouldn't be surprised if we have a show at Christmas this year, looking back at everybody we lost

I think once Craig Cash took over doing her Gogglebox narrating things were bad.

Apart from her family, you have to feel for Craig Tonight, who has worked with Caroline since the 90s if not before

This thread seems to be getting earlier and earlier every year. I don't even think about Christmas until the schools go back after there summer break.
I know schools in most of Scotland break off a week before them in England and go back a week or so before schools in England.

Buddy! This thread ALWAYS starts a week after the Christmas RT is released. This year the Countdown Thread will start around the 12th December. For many of us, the Countdown starts the moment Christmas finishes. We don't just talk about Christmas though. We talk about Easter too!

Yes, but you might guess the cover right again! That means you'll be able to start it again this year!

Sounds intriguing! Either late or you're about to confirm that you are to be a late addition to the Tory leadership battle!
