I wonder If we will get a repeat of one of the Christmas Royle Family episodes on Christmas day itself this year as a tribute to Caroline Aherne?

It will be a "60 minute special" or about 40 once you take the adverts into account

As the twinkly tones of Downton Abbey in mid September usually signal the start of the Christmas countdown for me, it's got me wondering what ITV will replace it with on Sunday nights this autumn? It's got to be something period set for me!

Probably, but they are repeated endlessly throughout the year on Gold and Yesterday.

I'll second that, the number of shows/stars he's written for is endless and it might shed some light on this unsung comedy writers immense talent

I have only just started reading this thread again as we are hurtling towards the Festive season and itv have started advertising X Factor and the names of some of the Celebs for Strictly are being announced or rumoured.

I really feel that Member Wizzywick has made a huge effort for this thread and definately wanted to thank him for going to so much trouble. ( Your a STAR Wizzywick ).

They already had a two-part interview with clips on Radio 2 last Christmas which I think was for his 80th birthday, so I doubt they'd do another one just yet.

Thanks guys, you're very kind. But this thread is about ALL of us! It's a nice bit of escapism where the tolls of life can be forgotten about and we can just bum along in here and talk about nothing in particular about things we share an interest in. The efforts I make are just carried out because I enjoy doing it. But other posters, especially claires_dad, also makes a huge effort and devotes a lot of his time in the run up to the Christmas Radio Times being released, and of course his excellent webisite:

http://ukchristmastv.weebly.com/

is an invaluable source of information and enjoyment to us all. Then of course are the regular posters like marke09 who spends time trying to devise a "Guess the Christmas Ratings" competition that hopefully will take off this year. All of us make this thread such an enjoyable thread to be part of. And that is why I enjoy doing the Quiz, simply because I know that other posters enjoy taking part in it.
