I dislodged a spider lurking behind my 2005-2015 Christmas Radio Times pile tonight, so I'll have to carry out a search for the spider before bed!

Was it a big one? I hate it when spider's just appear from nowhere. Thankfully, I have a spider catching-eating cat who seems to enjoy snacking on them. They seem to be everywhere this year!

It will soon be spider season. Usually around the end of September/beginning of October male house spiders will be on the move looking for a mate.

That's a relief! I'm enjoying a few days annual leave and being a bit of a saddo! I am watching numerous Youtube clips of BBC Christmas presentation from 1977. They really knew how to do Christmas back then!. And, not a spider in sight.

Last year I had a massive one escape from a pair of boxer shorts that was in my pants drawer! It scared the living daylights out of me and I've made sure the drawer has been firmly shut since then.

Year really just whizzes by.

Yearly tradition in this household to buy the bumper two week edition of TV/Radio Times

Here are this week's Questions if you need them:

1. In the 2006 Christmas Issue, there is an article entitled “Party Animals”. Which programme that aired during the New Year period is it referring to?

2. John Neville, with guest appearances from Robin Williams and Oliver Reed, featured in which movie premiere on Channel 4 during Christmas 1994?

3. “Black Canary” is the title of a festive special of which enigmatic crime drama?

4. In January this year we sadly lost Sir Terry Wogan to cancer. In 1987 he hosted a two part TV Tribute show about BBC Radio Comedy. What was it called?

5. What was the title of BBC2's Christmas Night movie premiere in 1986?

6. Who read the story “The Mezzotint” on Christmas Night in 1986?

7. Robert Lindsay starred in BBC1's New Year's Eve feature in 1984. What was it called?

8. James Caan starred in which violent film from Christmas 1983 about a game that was designed to release anti-social behaviour amongst its spectators?

9. An all star cast featured as children in which ITV festive drama from 1999?

10. In the 2012 edition, which “Secret Santa” said “Graham Norton is getting a new chair…….Jimmy Carr, an abacus!”

Your penultimate reminder this week to get your answers to me by 11.59pm on Saturday September 3rd. Don't forget, there's a small prize this week if you score over 7 and your name is drawn from a hat in a prize draw!

September 1st! It's only just begun.
I was in Debenhams on Bank Holiday Monday, and they already had Christmas stuff out! A woman was complaining to the staff there about it.

wizzy i agree with you in another thread about the OTT appearances of last years GBBO winner - most just d a cookbook and then disappear but not this one who gets her own two part series and a Radio Times cover - has nay other winner had a RT cover- probably keeping Paul and Mary back for the Christmas Bake Off Cover

Dare. I say it Nadiya winning GBBO probably ticked a lot of boxes for the bigwigs at the BEEB, multiculurtal etc

How? The closer we get to this Christmas, the nearer we are to the next. Unless you meant that the closer we are to this one the further we are from the last. In which case it doesn't really matter!

I look forward to getting your answers. Remember, you only need to score 70 points overall to be in with a chance of winning a prize at the end. There are still 76 points to get and you've already got 10, so you only need 60 points over the next 7 weeks. There are 16 questions in week 5 and like this week, there is a prize draw for the fifth week. If you can get 7 points this week, again, you're in with a chance of getting a prize!

Thanks wizzy. Thought I got 9 last week though. To be honest I enjoy doing it, I have done it for the last couple of years without entering. It's now become part of my Christmas countdown and I enjoy looking back through Christmas tv (claires dad) archives.
