There has been nothing definitive regarding Last Tango in Halifax, but Anne Reid hinted it would be a two part Christmas Special whilst Sally Wainwright has hinted a fourth series would be made - but not yet.
Lovely thank you

Rather than me keep posting the Questions each time a new page is reached, I thought I'd just post the link of the post that the Questions appear in.

So, here are the Questions again:

It will soon be spider season. Usually around the end of September/beginning of October male house spiders will be on the move looking for a mate.
Just seen my first male giant house spider (Eratigena atrica).
Quite early this year, must be because of the rain of the last couple of days.

Way-hey!!!! A surefire shoe in for a Christmas Week start then. I'd predict Holiday Tuesday 27th, with the Christie drama on Wednesday - Thursday (or Friday if it's a three parter!)

Cheers for that News.

Perhaps it's quietly stopped printing and is no longer on sale!

Well the mods had better close this thread then but no wonder circulation of them all is declining if you can get free copies online thanks to your local library

That's the trouble with people today. They want everything for nothing and when it is no longer available they moan because it isn't there anymore. "How dare they charge us" they say. I am becoming less and less tolerant towards the public. They irritate the hell out of me. Why do they order so much stuff online and then just return it all? What's the point? Why not get off their arse and go to the shop, a real shop, you know the type they'll moan about when it is forced to close through lack of usage, look at what they want to buy and then buy it? We've become lazy, greedy, expectant and downright rude. That's society these days.

There, rant over.

I know a local bank closed the other month - they showed figures that only 65 poeple had used it the previous six months but somehow they managed over a thousand signatures to stop its closure - if those had used the bank they would need to close

You ready for the new fiver which is coming next Tuesday?

I've seen Post Office Press releases on it. We have to continue giving out the old ones initially. Unless a customer specifically asks for a new one. The current ones will remain in circulation until May when they cease to become legal tender. The "Winnie". They look weird from the Specimen photos we've been sent.

From the BBC Press office

Sir Terry Wogan Remembered: Fifty Years At The BBC (w/t) on BBC One, which is being made by BBC Studios, will take viewers on a journey through the 50-year career of the true national treasure.

The programme will be an affectionate celebration full of classic moments, featuring much loved shows from Blankety Blank to the Eurovision Song Contest. It will explore the three facets of Terry: on television, on radio and as the charity figurehead for BBC Children in Need, and will also reveal the private side of a man whose values and beliefs laid the foundations for his extraordinary success.

The tribute will feature people who knew him best sharing fond, funny memories of one of the most-loved broadcasters of all time - including Jeremy Vine, Ken Bruce, Alesha Dixon, Michael Grade, Eamonn Holmes, Katie Melua, Dermot O’Leary, Len Goodman, Graham Norton, Fearne Cotton and Rob Brydon.

The memorial service - A Service Of Thanksgiving For The Life And Work Of Sir Terry Wogan KBE DL - will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 2 between 12-1pm and will be prefaced and followed by a special edition of the Jeremy Vine Show (11.30am - 2pm) - in which Jeremy will celebrate the life and times of Terry, speaking to listeners and hearing their memories of him.

Apparently they stick together very easily and also a guy in Canada had some in his back pocket sat on a radiator for a few minutes and got up to a gooey mess in his back pocket!

About time. Whilst the One Show tribute was nice, it wasn't sufficient for a man of Wogan's calibre.

Is anyone playing this week? It's very quiet - the quietest so far! Hope I don't get a tsunami of entries all at the same time!

I'm annoyed! The forecast for September as a month is dry and very warm! Why don't we have proper blooming seasons anymore? I hope we don't have another Christmas Day where temperatures are 16 degrees Celsius. That was ridiculous last year. Snow please!!!
2009 It snowed heavily on Christmas Eve. As a result loved ones from near and far were unable to join us on Christmas Day as local roads were unpassable. NO Snow PLEEEEASE

It was 2010 here that we had snow few days before Christmas and I live on a housing estate at the top pf a big hill and we got snowed in as far as traffic was concerned - i wrote to the council asking if anything could be done just so that those who had plans to travel could and next day a JCB came up to dig a path and all was well with the world - not! ON Christmas Day the family have a tradition of going to the cemetery to put flowers on the graves but unfortunately that year we couldn't make it as the road was so icy so yes lets have some snow but not enough to effect anywhere (until its time to go back to work)

2009 and 2010 were both snow years at Christmas - although 2010 was the coldest. -7 degrees on Christmas Day in most parts of the UK in that year. A balmy -1 in 2009. Then in 2011 it was 11 degrees, 2012, 13 degrees and 2014 also 13 degrees. In 2015 it peaked at 16 degrees so we are due a proper winter this year. Snow would be great! But only if people are already where they're meant to be.

A bit too early but

Forecast issued
Update 1, 03/09/2016
The computer says [Issued 06/09/2016 16:14:48]
The regional Christmas weather predictions are updated daily using medium and long range forecast data. They may indicate very different prospects to the TWO forecast above. Who will be right?

It's expected to be too mild for snow in the south.
It's expected to be too mild for snow in Wales.
It's expected to be too mild for snow in the Midlands.
Snow is expected in the north
Snow is expected in Scotland
Cold but dry conditions are expected in Northern Ireland
Snow is expected in the Republic of Ireland

https://www.netweather.tv/forum/topi...hristmas-2016/

Summary

Early indications suggest the coming winter may be significantly different to the last one. The combination of lower solar activity, a weak La Nina and an easterly QBO phase may favour a less cyclonic pattern and perhaps increase the risk of colder outbreaks.
