I have seen that mid-October may give us an Indian Summer with temperatures rising to around 22 degrees with warm sunshine. I have seen several different forecasting companies saying November and December will be colder than what we have had the past few years. So, we'll see.

The Digital Spy Annual Quiz:

I am making an announcement about the Quiz. I can confirm that I will be running the Quiz next year, and that it will return for an 8 week run, between August 20th and October 15th. There will be prize stages as per this year and some great prizes for the three overall winners.

However, the 2017 Quiz will be the final one that I run.

If anyone wants to take it over from 2018, then please do so, but just to reiterate, next year will be the last one that I run.

Back to this year, and look out on Wednesday for details of the semi-final that will run from this Sunday alongside week 7's questions.

Yeah! I've been poached for £75 million quid! (I wish).

I shall still be a regular in the thread, you won't get rid of me that quickly! Who knows, come 2018 (which will be here in a flash), I might even be able to take part in the Quiz!

This will sound daft but maybe come 2018, eight of us could provide a weeks questions each, so you get questions at all different levels, most weeks harder some easier but you wouldnt know.

But keep maybe 2 people in charge of the points, and the questions get sent to either of those two. It would save on somebody like wizzywick from getting like 30 question sheets to mark a week..

Diabolical thought I know but wanted to air my point

Question - Is it bad that I'm reading this thread (and have been all year) despite the fact I'm not going to be in the country over the Christmas period?

Not diabolical at all. I think that now there is an annual quiz, it would be a shame not to have one. It is not an issue until next October when the Quiz will be passed on to someone else - I have had an offer from someone to carry it on, but that will be confirmed once the 2017 thread is up and running. How that person chooses to carry it on will be up to them, but I'm sure any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You're right about 20 odd posters all posting answers at the same time! It gets a bit frustrating, but that is the nature of deadlines and I'd rather people posted late than not at all. However, I am running out of questions! I have enough for another 60 odd questions, but since 2014, I have devised over 220 questions and next year, it'll be 300. It is time come 2018, for someone else to do the thinking!

No, you are allowed your opinions as well as anybody, if the same people made all the posts imagine how boring, good to have different peoples views

Good luck with the continuation of your hectic life! You are well on track to get to the final week of the quiz and get entered into the prize draw. You can afford to get 11 questions wrong.”

Thank you Wizzy 👍

Pleased to hear I seem all set for the final -I assure you I have no intention of getting 11 questions wrong no fear!!!

Sorry for any inadvertent rule breaks about having a life away from digital spy forums during quiz season -I will try not to let it happen again!!

The first Ident I fully remember, was the year when the BBC Premiered Batman Returns, and the Globe turned into the batwings

- Yes they would because it's a ratings winner and as I keep saying that's all they care about. That said, I agree totally that's it's a run up/feel good programme and as someone pointed out earlier in the thread it's going to be full of ideas that viewers might want to try for Christmas

A bit over the top I think.”

- Really? Christmas time, a time for children and you think it's OK to use Rolf Harris as a reference point?

I think that was the original Batman (well, the first Tim Burton one) at Christmas 1991; ITV had Batman Returns, a few years later.

The 1980's had a mixed bag of Christmas idents, but I really liked the simplicity of 1987's which was the first BBC1 ident to include music, ever! The 1989 spinning top and 1990's magical book cover with the globe were wonderful. Yes, 1991's contained a Batman variation and was the first ever BBC1 ident to feature a scheduled programme in their idents. My favourite BBC1 Christmas ident is 1997's twelve days of Christmas and 1998's red bauble. Simple, but very festive.

If you order a subscription straight from the publishers of Total TV Guide it will cost you £56 for the year but the subscription does not start until January 3 2017

Luckily there are other subs offers available in the magazine

Well the reference point was a joke about Rolf Harris, not exactly championing him.
Mind you a lot of people would say ban the song anyway because it's so awful.
