Just a couple of days to go before the Quiz closes for the last time this year. So, don't forget to get your answers to me by 11.59pm this coming Saturday, 15th October.

Prize Details

This Sunday, I will reveal the winners of five prize categories.

Firstly, I will carry out the draw for the "Semi-Final Prize Winner" where all posters who entered the semi-final but didn't win the first, second or third prize, will be put into a draw and the name selected will win the last "Christmas Radio Times Fridge Magnet". I will list all semi-finalists, but the three main prize winners will not be put into the draw. I will not reveal who these are!

Secondly, I will then reveal the final scores, from last to fourth place.
Thirdly, I will then reveal the name of the person who came third, and that person will win a Poster Wall Calendar for 2017 featuring 3 Radio Times Covers.

Then, I will reveal the name of the person who came second, who will win a Poster Wall Calendar for 2017 featuring 3 Radio Times Covers plus a Radio Times Tea-Towel featuring the 1977 Christmas Radio Times Cover.

Then, the overall winner will be revealed. The first prize is:
1) A Poster of a 1950's Classic Christmas Cover,
2) A Tea-Towel featuring the 1977 Christmas Radio Times,
3) A Stainless Steel Key-ring engraved with Radio Times Quiz Winner 2017 on it, in a gift box,
4) A Poster Wall Calendar for 2017 featuring 3 Radio Times Covers and
5) A gift boxed set of 101 Radio Times Postcards featuring 101 different covers.

Finally, I will carry out the prize draw of all posters who scored 70 points or more. The name selected will win "A Poster Calendar for 2017 featuring 3 Radio Times Covers".

The very last thing to do, will be to make an announcement about next year's Quiz. Then that'll be it. The Quiz will be officially over and it'll be over to claires_dad for the next exciting event as we rush towards Christmas at unbelievable speed!

I hated that move when it first happened, as being a kid back then, there was something good about having 2 double editions to read.

With rumours that this year's Christmas EastEnders will be a happy and low-key affair could it be cut down to 30 minutes so as to accommodate another programme - plus if its true could it also be scheduled earlier in the evening even as early as 6.30?

Going by rumours, and hints, it looks like Emmerdale could go the same as Eastenders, more of a low key, or as I would put it, going back to there roots for Christmas.

Could both go for 30 minutes

The 25th Christmas Double - not the 25th anniversary . That was March.

This has probably already been asked but is this years double issue 24/12 to 6/01 or 17/12 to 30/12. The first version would seem the most logical as it covers the 2 holiday weekends, and the 17-23/12 could include a basic outline of the Xmas schedules Looks as if my question has been answered just above

They could probably have gone from the 17th to the 1st,

And charged you an extra 20p for the benefit of it.

Oops shouldnt put ideas in there heads

Granted the article is old and nothing to do with Radio Times but I thought it might be interesting to focus on the fact that in less than a month from now we will have an avalanche of Christmas themed adverts.
The festive advert has become a bit of an event and ushers in the start of commercial Christmas.
John Lewis is rumored to be launching their offering on 4th November 2016.

What are your thoughts? do they add to the experience or do you think they're released too early?

Radio Times can't put New Year's Day TV in because when the 17-30 December issue goes to print the TV Companies won't have finalised their schedules for the week starting 31st December.

There seems to be an almighty rush these days to get their double issue in the shelves - they blame the schedulers because the NeW year schedules will not be finalised until second week of December - but i think its case of them wanting to cash in with us having t buy the Christmas and then the New Year issue

I myself could wait until mid December for the double issue if it meant New Year too BUT look on the bright side normally we have two consecutive years when New Year does not appear but the way the calendar is it is only one this time around and wont happen again until 2021

Doubt the newspapers will be affected and the Sundays will prob do a Double Issue on the 18th (Mail has done a 21 day guide in previous years)
