I like it when the clocks go back. Why are people so obsessed about an extra 53 minutes in the evening? It makes no odds how "light" it is when it's freezing cold outside.

Traditional Cover Guess

Snowy Scene with a Christmas Tree, Evergeen Leaves, with Elisa from Frozen siting onto of the Christmas Tree, sounded by toys at the bottom of the tree.

TV Themed Guess

A Storyboard of Everything 2016, 12 little storyboard boxes, with Little images of events from Every month, along the bottom Boris Johnson, with Michael Gove ahead of him, with Boris yielding an axe. The Radio Times strap, being an offish blackey colour.

With a border up the top saying, to make this Christmas and New Year edition even worse, we wont be giving you New Years Day

The Program would be 12 Nights of Charlie Brooker, Starting on 17 December

No leave the clocks as they are, today my dad has spent hours trying to get my mums Grandfather clock chiming properly, and her Nightmare Before Christmas clock working as it should

Awww, but the world don't revolve around your mum's Grandfather clock! What your dad should do in March, is when the clock's go forward - (funny how no body complains about this or suggests we leave it on GMT in the Spring - only the selfish summer worshippers who think because they love the warmth and the summer, everyone else must too!) -leave the clock to wind down and only wind it again on the Sunday morning after the clock change.

Now that Love productions have refused to do a Comic relief Bake Off for the BBC Next Year could the two Christmas specials now be shown on BBC Two where the previous Master-classes have been shown. I know BBC One controller said they would be on BBC One but that was before the whole sorry saga blew up

And one of the other reasons used - if we used Central European Time, then we'd be on the same time as places like Paris, Berlin and Brussels (no mention of dealing with them post-Brexit were mentioned) and thus would make it easier to do business with them.

It is really unthinkable to ask them to start work an hour earlier?

Just like wizzywick, I love it when the clocks go back a hour each Autumn. When the time comes around for the return of Greenwich Mean Time I like to have a glass of something alcoholic to celebrate. The long dark nights at this time of year are a significant part of the pre-Christmas build up. I would like to wish wizzywick and everybody else who likes this time of year a very happy GMT !

Please have a look at this article by Peter Hitchens http:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/ar...Ming-vase.html. Scroll down to where it says 60 minutes of Berlin madness.

As the "Starting the next thread" is not part of the Cover competition prize this year (probably due to the shambolic creation of the thread by someone who has not posted on here since), I thought we could amicably decide who will start it and when it will launch.

Perhaps those who would like to start it could put their names forward and then be entered into a draw. Maybe claires_dad could pick the name out once he's confirmed the cover competition winner? What do you guys think? It would be nice to have a less dramatic start to the 2017 thread.

No need to nominate anyone. I notice some person, obviously to be mischievous because it isn't even November yet, (well, it is now, just!) has started it already. And this years Cover Competition hasn't even ended. I don't mind that it has been started, but it seems for the past two years, posters have deliberately started it to take the mick out of us thread regulars. If people really find this thread so jovial and all of us who contribute into it as people worth taking the mick out of, it says a lot more about them than it does us! At least the 2017 thread doesn't include an annoying poll. But, it does sort of ruin the magic of the thread when posters who rarely, or if ever, post just want to start one out of joviality. Hey ho. Happy November everybody!

I'd give him a show every week. I love his Screen Wipew. Real acidic cutting satire, I also enjoy his cohort's (Philomena Cunk) misguided take on things

OK so they're not going to give him a weekly show but he is worthy of a Christmas and New Year show. AND........................It's all fresh material, no repeats in sight.

What ratings system were they using ? There are some very notable omissions like the 1966 World Cup Final getting 30 million viewers on BBC1 (3 million on ITV).

There was also no mention of the Olympic Games Ceremonies either.

And still the cut where the girl kisses Roy Wood on the cheek.
