Apologies if this has already come up but will this year's Christmas RT cover Dec 24-Jan 6 or Dec 17-Dec 30? I don't like it when the Christmas and New Year issues are separate.

OK, in that case my traditional cover prediction is as follows: Santa riding a sleigh through a snow-covered forest with loads of presents on it.

Could we see a big John Lewis or Sainsbury's Advert make a premiere during Gogglebox either this friday or next, they have in years gone by

So it's the less catchy "most watched made-for-TV programmes".

It would be interesting to see what a genuinely most watched television would look like.

Do you buy any new decorations every year - do you have decorations passed down the generations?

I guess then it is likely we will see the John Lewis Ad for the first time during Gogglebox then on its first break.

If I remember rightly last year, didn't the add appear on youtube etc the Day before

It's so good to see the "guess the cover" comp up & running. I like the "twist" of having 2 guesses.

Will post my entries tomorrow, need to think about them.

Christmas 24 is my guilty pleasure & i'm looking forward to watching the Christmas movies on channel 5.

Any idea when Magic music channel starts playing Christmas music?

Traditional Cover:
Drawing of a snowy night scene with some reindeer, and Santa raising a glass to the large stars in the sky, each designed to look like one of the TV personalities to have died in 2016: Terry Wogan, Ronnie Corbett, Victoria Wood, Paul Daniels etc.

Programme Cover:
Drawing of Doctor Who sitting outside the TARDIS, having a picnic in the snow, with a sinister looking turkey about to attack him from behind.

Hopefully there will be a national or London based station that'll play some festive tunes.

I'm making a wild guess the soundtrack will be another watered down cover version.

With us it's a combination. Each year a couple of new things added a couple of old ones discarded. When one of my daughters was 5, at school she made a 'Star of David' for the tree from lollipop sticks, glue and glitter. A few years ago we left it off. She wen't balistic so back on it went. She's 25 now and ity's the first thing she checks when the tree goes up.

Yes, what is wrong with them doing a traditional, sparkly Christmas themed ad? This trendy, melancholic phase the advertisers are going through is not only surreal, but kind of off putting.

I miss Woolies! They knew how to do Christmas adverts!
