Christmas in our house starts to move up a notch this weekend, as we're all off to the Netherland's to see the arrival of SinterKlaas in Amsterdam on Sunday.

To heighten the spirits this Friday is also St. Martins Day her in Germany which heralds the start of Karnivaal so there's a big parade in town and the kids will be trick-or-treating

Then we kind of go quiet for a week as the following weekend they're going to start building the Kristkindmarkt which opens on the 22nd which means I'm going to be playing Christmas Music nightly with the town band from then until Dec 24th

The article in the link I've quoted from September starts

David Walliams returns to BBC One with some familiar faces for new series, Walliams And Friend

"After entertaining six million viewers at Christmas with Joanna Lumley, David Walliams will be back on BBC One with a new friend each week, as Walliams & Friend returns this autumn"

"The series will also feature a Christmas special with actor Hugh Bonneville (W1A) joining David. The show also stars Morgana Robinson (Morgana Robinson’s The Agency) and Mike Wozniak (Man Down)"

host of the Royal Variety
host of Blankety Blank
adaptation of his book with im sure him starring in it

Can I submit my entries for the cover competition:

For the traditional one: Santa relaxing in an armchair in front of a roaring fire with a snowy scene outside the window.

For the programme one, Olaf the snowman out of Frozen in a snowy scene.

As for my opinion as to who should start next year's thread I don't think we need one, as the conversations tend to go on all year round I think this thread should just continue subject to size limitations (if there are any). If whoever started this year's thread deleted the "2016" from the title we could carry on forever.

BIB: Yep, that's what I think. Once the thread becomes too big, the mods split it and rename it Part 2 and so on. I think the Thread for 2017 should omit "2017" from the title and just let it continue. Therefore, there'd be no reason to consider who starts it the following year.

Not being nasty, but I thought he'd died a long time ago.

But, yes, he was one of the greats of my childhood era.

Just over 20 years ago I started listening to Radio 2 during the week. My work at that time meant I could work a lot from home, we had just moved into a new home, that we are still in, and my oldest daughter was still pre school, and I look back on those times fondly. Part of that was the daytime schedule on Radio 2. Terry Wogan, Jimmy Young and Ed Stewart. All sadly passed this year.

I am sure there will be some commemoration of those that have died this year, at some point over the Christmas schedules.

Inevitable of course so hardly a surprise but Zoe also said the Xmas special would be on Christmas day.

I think Chanel 4 had It's a Wonderful Life last year. Hopefully this year the BBC will dig deep and buy the rights this year fingers crossed

I know the TV magazines come out on the 3rd of December but when does Digi Guide and the BBC Media Centre website start putting them on?.

No sign of Love Actually, The Polar Express or Elf in the schedules yet. ITV must have lost the rights because I'm sure they've usually been on by now.

Really like those.
Not seen a good stamp design for years.
They would make a great design for tv magazine cover too.
