Thank you, the TBAs were always a waste of time, too much not confirmed and what was, then was moved.

I used to enjoy the paper pullout for the TBAs

As they used to give early full details of how the soaps were going to deal with Xmas.

With Eastenders and Emmerdale both promising some what a low key Christmas not sure it would take much room.

And Corrination Streets main Christmas Day Storyline already finishing, cause of an Actor getting sacked

Myself as Christmas Day is a Sunday, I would like this year to be soap free, have them in there normal slots but a two hour block on ITV on Christmas Sunday is so annoying.

Just had my first blast of Noddy shouting 'IT'S CHRISTMAS' on one of the music channels there

Also dragged Christmas shopping, for the first time this year, earlier today

Isn't it great.

My wife is sat sewing her Christmas tree skirt, the Christmas adverts have started on TV and it's prompted me to start looking for Christmas adverts and idents on YouTube. Whilst looking I came across the Only When I Laugh Christmas special. I hadn't seen this for 20 plus years and I'd forgotten how funny it was. Are there any other long forgotten Christmas specials that I, or we, should be revisiting.

Often down to one person who has all the newspapers and magazines to put out, and leaves the Christmas editions on their trolley not kneeing it should be out.”

Having worked in this area, the main issue came down to space.

The priority would be to sell through the issue that was closest to the recall date first, so if we had 4 spaces for the Radio Times to go and a lot of the oldest issue still in stock then that would take most of the space.

With the Christmas issue, there is normally a separate "Christmas TV Listings" stand sent in so we could always put the double issues on that but sometimes that didn't arrive until a couple of days after our first delivery.

Do we reckon that BBC One's Christmas idents are going to run from Dec 1st, like they did with Sprout Boy last year? You feel that having created a precedent with it being that early, it would be hard for them to change that now and be a bit late this year... (Not that I imagine anyone other than us weirdos who post on this thread would actually remember, for comparison purposes! )

I think it will be Saturday 3rd December, but we'll see. It's incredibly quiet regarding news of this year's ident. We normally have received confirmation as to whether it will be a new ident or not by now! Not a sausage this year. Could we be seeing a re-use of an old one?

I'd love to see BBC1 use lots of their old idents to celebrate 80 years of TV!

They could use 1996,s, 1997's, 1998,s, 2006,'s, 2007 with the Penguin and tree, 2010,s and 2014's as all would fit in with the circle theme. I too wouldn't mind seeing a collection of older ones.

Oh last year's Two Idents were as popular as Trump!

They used 2000's,, 2001's, 2002,s and 2011's. But they used a choral soundtrack with the one word "Two two two two two two two two two two two two two two two" being used against the tune of Christmas Carols. People hated them!"
