so many of us will be thinking of decorating ion the next 3 weeks or so - so have any of you any tips to help the rest of us|?

What do you put on first, second, third etc
Does your tree have a colour theme or is it multi coloured
Do you decorate your main living room window (if so with what)
Do you only have a tree or do you have garlands as well
Do the garlands go corner to middle of room or from one wall to the other
Any hanging decorations?
Have you a favourite decoration?
Are you traditionalist (same way every year ) or change the way every year
OR
Cant be bothered with the whole thing!

Since mine have been up since Monday, here are my answers...

What do you put on first, second, third etc - Lights, Tinsel, Baubles, last thing to go on is the Star.
Does your tree have a colour theme or is it multi coloured -

Living Room - Black Tree, White lights, Silver Tinsel, Multi Coloured Baubles, Silver Star
Bedroom - Green Tree, Gold Lights, Red and Gold Tinsel, Red and Gold Baubles, Gold Star
Do you decorate your main living room window (if so with what) - Yes, Snowflake Stickers
Do you only have a tree or do you have garlands as well - Both rooms have Ceiling decorations, Wall decorations, decorated sideboard, lots of lights and tinsel and other little bits.
Do the garlands go corner to middle of room or from one wall to the other - Corner to middle
Any hanging decorations? - Snowflakes dowstairs, Stars upstairs
Have you a favourite decoration? - I like the lights but I also like my Red Tinsel Star I got last year. It shines and you can see it from the Mcdonalds car park behind my house!.
Are you traditionalist (same way every year ) or change the way every year - Changed most of it this year, got rid of the Silver Tinsel upstairs as wanted Gold this year.

I have decided to put my decs up next weekend. I have put blue and white icicle lights up along the top of the main wall in the living room today.

I will just drape my rather lovely new ice-silver coloured tinsel around my pictures, and in one corner of the room I have just been given a giant 3 foot Santa (Wilko's for £30).

In the opposite corner I have a new white twig tree,pre-lit and on a few branches I will hang baubles. On the shelving unit between my two sofas I will have a wooden snowman that has twenty white lights attached.

Finally, my white tree. A six foot white tree that has snow on the branches too, and the colours will be white, blue and silver baubles with around 500 white and blue twinkling led lights.

That's it! With icicle lights in the passageway (hallway) that will conclude my decorations! I don't have anything on the ceiling and I have hardly anything compared to a decade ago!.

Well this thread gets more popular every year, this years has already reached 99 pages.
That's more than last years. It won't be long before it reaches for the 1st time in it's history 100 pages.
Finally for now it is in my opinion a good idea for each year to have it's own separate Christmas countdown thread.
