yes mine worked that out, she is happy when im in the bedroom will lay down and go to sleep or play. but if I dare go in the bathroom without her she is there within seconds

she used to sleep at the foot of the bed then she decided she prferred the bed but I got no sleep cos of her figeting and stealing the covers and then bringing all her toys to play so now she stays in the livingroom either in her bed or on the sofa.

When my dog used to want to sleep on the bed, she always did it top to tail. So her head was at the bottom of the bed and I was presented with her rear end.
Fortunately she didn't fart

We did have her up with us when she was spayed because I didn't want her jumping on and off the sofas while the wound healed and she isn't crate trained. Tried her bed beside mine and I hung my arm over to soothe her but she was having none of it and wanted up with us.

Gawd, I was glad to see the back of her. She kept licking my ears, snuffling my hair or laying on my head and face. Alternating between Westie hat and Westie eye mask. Terrible pillow nicker too. Flaming nuisance she was.

Was worried she'd be miffed when it was time to go back to the living room but she was grand. Not a bother. She's usually curled up on my spot on the sofa in the morning and it'd take a bomb to shift her.

Poodles/Doodles don't moult that's why I need to bath and clip my doodles every 6 weeks and brush them with a slicker brush every blooming day lol.

I don't mind doing them myself - I don't trust Poodle parlours to cut them how I want them cut - I don't want my Doodles Poodled plus it's a good bonding time. It takes all day mind. My giant Labradoodle Labradoodle/Labradoodle hybrid takes forever to wash, dry and clip but he's worth it, he's such a good boy. My Springerdoodle is a doddle to clip as her coat is soft and silky.

No, my dog doesn't go upstairs (his choice), he won't even sleep in a dog bed and prefers a hard, cold, tiled floor

No, I've had dogs all my life and they are not allowed upstairs in any home we've had. Trained with a stair gate as a puppy, this is removed when they know not to go up the stairs. If we had a one level home they still would not be let in.
They may be family members but every dog I've had breathes loudly or snores, shifts position regularly, occasionally barks at noises and is generally distracting.
I also seem to have breeds that like some time on their own, or have had 2 dogs at a time and keep each other company.
It would also interfere with 'interpersonal relations'! Even a kiss and cuddle can cause doggy excitement and a battle to join in

How do people who are in relationships cope with a dog in the room?

As other poster said, I have Briards and they do not moult, some terriers don't moult either, we had a Cairn and we only got occasionally fluff but that was after he had been clipped.

No, the dog fidgets too much in the night and couldn't stand all the pets hairs. So upstairs is now banned and everyone sleeps soundly.

If I had one it probably would, others have. Currently my young cat sleeps on my bed, it make me feel content.

Our two alternate, on and off the bed depending how warm they are.
Mia - small-ish female Staffordshire doesn't moult much.
Stig - male Staffordshire-x-Labrador (Lab-sized) hardly moults at all.
They have a large dog bed in the corner of the bedroom, which they share, but tend to spend more time on our bed this time of year, and more time on their own bed during the summer.

When they're both up with us it does get a bit 'snug' - Stig stretches full-length up my side of the bed, and Mia curls up between our feet.
Good job we have a King-size - it would often get very cramped in a standard double.

This is the first dog we've ever had who wants to sleep in the bed !! he is so content you'd hardly know he was there !

And around 8am she walks over to the top of the bed to see if i am awake..

Yes, my whippet is a great footwarmer. I have a faux fur throw for him but he doesn't shed anyway. He just coories up in his blanket and that's him settled for the night. I'm divorced so relationship issues aren't a problem.

I've got two chihuahuas (they're not tiny ones either) and they'd live in our bed if they could. They love nesting. First thing they do every morning after going outside is run into the bedroom and bury themselves under the covers.

They don't sleep in the bedroom though - they've got 3 beds, two sofas and two crates in the living room to choose from

Our dog would, if we allowed it but she moults a fair bit and I don't want hairs on the bed. She snores and farts too so happy that she is content with her own bed in the lounge😆

Don't have a dog ( love them but with my job just don't have the time to make sure that it would be looked after properly with the exercise it needed so it would not be fair to have one ) but have cats, Bookend and Gizmo will pop into the bedroom and have a wander and will sometimes wake me up if hungry but they like to play after I've gone to sleep and then stretch out in the living room .

Nimrod on the other hand is a different kettle of fish, he follows me round even more so since he had an accident (recovered thankfully apart from a limp) and he likes to sleep with me , to the extent that if he is tired he will come and meow at me to let me know its time for bed . He starts off on the duvet but later he will go down the bottom crawl under and then crawl up under the duvet like a commando until his head and shoulders are out at my end and then lay on his side and go to sleep, and he snores the little sod.

Tanna usually joins after I fall asleep, I get woken up with a gentle nudge to tell me she's there and a wee ruffle of her head and semi verbal "Hello sweetheart" and she settles down on the floor.
