Comicbook Writing Info/Structure
Please, share any info you have regarding how to layout the text for a comicstrip.
FX: Kerrang! The above shows how a sound effect would be written for the collision or crumpling of a metal structure. How would I display a thought bubble in text form? Thanks. |

I recommend you pick this up:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Writing-Comi...0100204&sr=8-1 (obviously, it's not the only book out there but it's a good starting place) ... as well as this, for some examples: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panel-One-Sc...0100248&sr=8-1 Plus check out this online script collection: http://www.scriptsandscribes.com/sample-comic-scripts/ (unfortunately it looks like the Online Comic Book Script Archive is currently offline...) Thought bubbles are quite rare nowadays, though Bendis tried to make them more popular again a few years back. Anyway, very basically, it should be written as if dialogue but wrapped in paranthesis, like: CHARACTER (thought goes here) But some studios may format things differently. ETA: You might find this of interest, too: Dark Horse Script Format PDF |
