Anton really was bottom the week he went, there was a lot of speculation at the time that he must have been above Che when the judges decided rather than taking it to the deadlock.

What we can be say from certain from these sats is the daily star must have lost their inside knowledge and just were doing guess work when saying Anton topped the vote on week one

Looking at the stats right now, we can see straight away that the nation was extremely divided on choosing whether to keep the show for one Series or to have it killed off this year.

The fact that there were fewer shows this year, it hasn't allowed much talking points to be made. ITV's weird choice over planning the Rugby schedule also contributed to what has been a dire Series.

it was an uphill struggle for the groups. 4th Impact had all the group hype on Show 1, bombed in show 2 (apart from R&B who thrived on it) before being shown the door by show 5 and I am kinda surprised that Alien Uncovered were third from bottom so if it had gone to deadlock, Keira would've been sent home a week earlier.

There was no chance for the Overs this year and it's not hard to see why, the producers goal was to get them out as early as possible, so when Anton reached third on show 1, they turned up the aim to get them out.

The Boys were hit and miss, Seann was not as popular as some of us thought and Mason got a lot of people talking for both right and wrong reasons, that left Che as the only boy the public was able to get behind to until he emerged in the sing-off, allowing him to regain his support that carried him to third in the final.

As for the girls, well Monica had the contestant comeback support and with Louisa being the chosen one and Lauren having the Essex/Girl next door vote, Kiera just didn't stand a chance and went out, almost being forgotten in the process. Monica was unable to last long a show later and then Lauren followed suit two shows later.

I then thought that once again the girls category was going to be wiped out, but then I remembered that Louisa got to the final and she is the first girl to have reached the final since Amelia Lily, but Louisa did better by getting there with no sing-off appearance. Her winning also makes her the first girl in the category to have won since Alexandra Burke.

So in summary, half of the voters wanted the show to be axed this year, but once Che was gone, that left a huge pile of balled-lover type voters to switch to another act and therefore giving Louisa the win and by a landslide too.”

If the X Factor is going to be axed, it wouldn't have been because of Reggie and Bollie winning. It would have been because this series in general has been such a flop in generating income for ITV compared to other years.

Louisa winning may well not change that.

If we end up with a seriously scaled back show next year-once a week with minimal production spend, it won't be because of who won or lost

Well yes, there is that other side of the coin. R&B are sure to have some kind of success, but they're not exactly going to be world class in the eyes of those who want to see people just sing.

Still, it's quite refreshing to see the Boys category not winning in recent years.

Looking at the week 1 results:

Louisa Johnson - 15.9%
4th Impact - 11.2%
Anton Stephans -10.7%
Monica Michael - 9.1%

Ché Chesterman - 8.7%
Lauren Murray - 8.4%
Reggie 'N' Bollie - 7.4%

4th Impact, Anton and Monica were all deramped after this week. Getting rubbish song choices, zero hype from judges and usually on early every week. Lauren joined this club after doing a little too well a few weeks later

Clearly them doing well was not the plan. I suspect Simon was very satisfied indeed with the final 3 he got.

not surprising Louisa topping the votes most weeks, with all the pimping she got from week 1 onwards.

from week 2, we already got the top 5 contestants. their fans has been consistent in supporting them. well done voters!

Her age was a major factor in her winning. ..
RITA kept reminding us! !! Plus Simon Cowell was looking for another leona...hes been looking since Ella/Tamara demise! !! Randb crowd reactions towards the latter part of the series, was a fuke as he knew they couldn't possibly beat Leona the 2nd! !!! Hence them staying for the final show...which personally was ok with me! !!

Similar to how Andrea, Lauren and Paul all got the derailing treatment by the producers last year to make way for Simon's' dream final with Ben and Fleur.

This show really drives me made now, has it always been this transparent and I was just too young to notice? It would be really interesting to have the voting data from the early years, but I suppose not even ITV would know that now.

How the judges act towards the contestants in Week 2, as well as the song choices, running order etc are usually a very good indicator of how the vote went in Week 1 and how Simon wants the vote to go in future.

week one voting stats can be a bit all over the place tbh

alot of the vote the first week is based on the hype thats been built up over the auditions and JH etc etc , once acts are seen performing live rather than the heavily edited highlights we get in the earlier stages that can change perceptions

They're on wikipedia from series 5 onwards. You may mean earlier than that though.

No, you have just been taken in by the whole conspiracy nonsense.Simon doesn't really care who wins. Have a look at the most successful acts in X Factor history and you will see that half of them didn't win.
The fact is, once you have a conspiracy in mind, you can look at the figures in a way that makes it seem correct.

Correct. What people a not taking into account is that Louisa is the best singer, the best looking and the youngest. She was always going to win. R&B were fun, people looked forward to seeing them, hence they were always a popular choice.

I did like Lauren, but I think the general public got it right.

They weren't taking their chances with the winner this time. Having less shows helped, too

I knew Louisa would get nowhere near the 80% some people said she would get!

Well done reggie and Bollie you do well 😀

Maybe not a good week to do the lottery.

The vote was much more evenly distributed than I expected - I mean that no one or no top three or four was running away with the vote week after week. So I think running order, song choice, judges' comments and staging were all critical to who stayed and who left, especially after the first two weeks.

I obviously have too much time on my hands.

Matt Cardle - 11/12 = 91.67%
Louisa Johnson - 6/8 = 75%
Ben Haenow - 8/11 = 72.73%
Sam Bailey - 10/14 = 71.43%
Joe McElderry - 5/11 = 45.45%
Little Mix - 4/10 = 40%
James Arthur - 4/11 = 36.36%
Alexandra Burke - 3/11 = 27.27%

No voting stats available for :-

Steve Brookstein ?
Shayne Ward ?
Leona Lewis ?
Leon Jackson ?

Look at the percentages though, she was scraping past the 2nd placers nearly every week, and despite the pimping she nearly went in the bottom two in week 5.

If they hadn't have pimped her she would've probably been in a bottom two.

She was closer to topping week 5 than being in the bottom 2 , and that was probably her weakest week

Considering she was probably the most pimped contestant in Talent Show history I don't think that it's good that there was two other acts ahead of her in the votes to be honest.

gutted for her to be honest especially with the running order and the weakest night of hers had she been on form she would have made the final.

Yeah I agree... 4th Impact and Lauren has been sabotage.
