LOL at some saying James Arthur is better. He isn't even in the same league as this girl when it comes to the quality of the voice. She will be a superstar if she is managed properly and writes good songs.

She shouts, that's it. Her tone in her lower register is pretty much non existent. When she sings she shows no emotion and no connection to the song. Her duet with Rita was awful...the two of them just shouted through it. I doubt either of them had a clue what the song was about or the meaning of it. There's been many contestants I past series who have been better than Louisa and left at earlier stages...Rachel Hylton and Laura White to name a few. In terms of winners, both Leona and Alexandra were better than her. They both actually know how to use their voices and they know what it means to actually "belt" and not scream.

She's like a little Ella Henderson.

Literally.

What is Simon going to do with 2 of them?

If that is shouting, then I wish I could shout and earn millions. Let's get real.

Decide who to give the better song to depending on who has tweeted most about One Direction's 'traumatising' break.

If you like her fair enough, but I live in the real world where it takes a lot more than shouting through a song to impress me. I go to a lot of open mic nights and I've seen better than her. People who know how to actually convey emotion when they sing. People who know how to connect with a song. I've said this on here before, but when Louisa sings, it's like she's giving a demonstration, not actually singing a song. I don't find anything interesting about her voice. There's more to a voice than being able to shout.

I am listening to all the winners of pop Idol and X factor Louisa has to be the best of all shows winners

Talentwise she's in the top 20%. But the more important thing is how marketable she is. You can almost see the Pound signs come up in Simon's eyes when he sees her come out in an outfit that shows how good looking she is. It's a slightly dangerous thing sexualising a barely 17 year old, so the show has had to be careful, Even her Essex girl angle works well here, because she's not TOO Essex--rather than looking like the usual Orange skinned overly made up Essex bird, she's got enough classic English Rose in her to play the contrast.

It would make for a nice short-term marketing success regardless, but fortunately she can actually sing reasonably well, and more importantly has charm and stage presence.

As for her coming off as "bland" to some? It will depend. This is equivalent to the situation they had on the US' American Idol when Carrie Underwood won. Beautiful young white girls come off feeling generic. Even a bit of Essex doesn't change that. But that's a longer term problem not a short term one. In the short term, she's super-marketable.

She will have s short shelf life, most of them have now. And IMO she shouts and screams.
Not good

Ella Henderson is doing pretty well for herself. Syco was even able to break America with her (Ghost actually charted in the US--#21--and she performed it on the US Voice).

That said, Louisa is skinnier, thus probably even more marketable. Simon isn't complaining.

She was excellent in the final.....and although that winners single isn't a great song, she did what she could with it. R and B'S version was the worst version of a winners single I have ever heard. Thank goodness the public saw sense and chose quality and talent over a joke act.

Neither of which will happen. She'll be milked by Syco then cast aside when she's outlived her usefulness

That's got to be a joke. The obsession with "finding the next Leona" is hilarious. No one on the show has come close to Leona vocally.

Not good”

Just watched her on youtube to see what the fuss was about. She showed some evidence during her winner's performance that she can sing, but as you say, she chose to shout and scream her way though everything but the start and end of the song. It was painful. Her singing style and use of her vocal chords is very poor and she desperately needs coaching.

But Adele does exactly the same thing, and look how much money she's raked in.

She'll be forgotten about and dropped by Simon's record label in a years time...

I was going to ask the same question!

It felt like the first few comments were from the XF production team trying to create a bit of hype.

The truth is that TXF's ability to hype their acts is now in the past.

Fleur has struggled with albums sales despite massive hype and being launched at the biggest sales time of the year.

With TXF coming to an end soon, Syco's ability to use the show as a vehicle for all his acts will disappear & the funding Syco have to promote their acts will diminish.

The majority of the public also now see the show as trash tv.

She doesn't come across as the same type of vocalist as Leona so I think it's fair that some might prefer her style of singing over Leona's. Technically Leona is the better singer but they are nor the same type of vocalists so I think It's unfair to compare them on technical terms. Whilst I do think there have been people on the show as good as Leona or better, I prefer Leona to Louisa. Leona has a pleasant voice and I've bought a lot of her material. At this point in time I don't see myself buying anything that Louisa puts out.

Ella Henderson has not broken America. Her album underperformed there only selling 33,000 in its first week and none of her singles have charted since Ghost. She's a one hit wonder at the moment.

That's just an insane (and pretty offensive) tact to take for an argument. To act like anyone who liked the girl and says so is a stooge? (that's of course what you were implying rather than actually that someone was a producer)

The OP has 11,883 posts. Do you SERIOUSLY think that's a disguise for a production stooge? That someone took YEARS to build a "cover" just to be able to come on now and "fool" you?
