After all the posts about Anita and Katie lets not forget that Georgia was ill this week, had to change her dance, but still managed to pull in more public votes than Anita. That's a good achievement after last week and she did it with fine dancing.

Good luck to her for the final.

Not talking about this week but she needs to up her game if she wants to win. They have been too complacent recently. I really wasn't too surprised to see them in the dance off the other week. They may have peaked too soon, but we will see.

Georgia did very well, especially considering she was poorly.

(And I'm a Jay fan, but like Georgia too.)

It was unlikely that she would have faced the DO....she would have got a bounce from being in the bottom two last week. Plus she was shown crying on vt three times =sympathy vote. Yes, she did well having been so poorly but Jay lost a day going to a funeral, Peter did his non-jive with only four hours under his belt (not the same as that was his choice i know), Carol was up at 5am and still training, Kellie has been knackered and multitasking beyond belief. Georgia's VW was gorgeous and justifies her place in the final (but it should have been gorgeous, her VW based AS was only a few weeks ago). Her cha cha on the other hand was technically dire and overmarked.

I cannot agree with this. They have danced wonderfully well, and were top of the leaderboard the week they ended up in the DO, so I don't know why you weren't surprised. Georgie is going from strength to strength - even this week after being so poorly, she produced that sublime VW, and the cha cha cha was not bad under the circumstances. Giovanni is a marvellous choreographer and his ballroom dancing is gorgeous.

She certainly has the best chance... of finishing 4th!

Sorry, but you have to accept: she just isn't anywhere near as popular as we are led to believe, nor as likeable as they desperately want her to be!

The whole "Aw, she's really come out her shell" thing is utter nonsense (check out her week 1 Jive!!! Or her early Rumba! Me see no shell!?)

The endless crying at EVERYTHING (happy, sad, poorly, whatever). The undisguisable smugness. The voice/accent. The excessive make-up. The pouting. The "pocket rocket"-small/cute-schtik, which hasn't worked for anyone, ever...! (erm, apart from Team Cola, maybe )

The sour grape reaction to being in the dance-off. The sourpuss face caught on camera reacting to other dancers. The sore throat saga - which was blown out of all proportion, and was even blamed as a result of being voted into the dance-off!! (on ITT). Blimey. That's hardly going to get the audience on your side.

The overlooked mistakes. The over-marking. The dull partner. The shrieking. Did I mention the crying?
I won't mention the previous dancing experience, as now that Anita has been booted, it hardly seems relevant...

But the last straw for me, was their reaction(s) to being saved from the dance off, whenever they were left until last to be named safe... Now, if you are someone who happens to notice these things (or even if you're just someone who appreciates politeness & good manners), you will perhaps be aware that is customary, in this particular situation, to refrain from overly joyous-celebrations (eg jumping around, fist pumping, screaming, and so on), but instead; to simply look relieved, and to quickly offer looks of concern and/or commiserations for the unfortunate couple who have just learnt their not-so-lucky fate.

Georgia & Giovani did not even acknowledge Katie & Anton, in any way whatsoever. They were far too busy going completely bonkers with glee at being in the final, to realise that just a few feet away, stood a couple who might be about to dance their last ever dance, and thus fall at the final hurdle.
A hurdle they themselves had only just cleared, thanks to blatant mis-marking & ludicrously negative judge's comments made towards the other couple.

You can't put this down to bad editing - It was bad manners, pure & simple. To be oblivious to the misfortune of others is one thing, but to celebrate your own good fortune at the expense of another's, whilst stood within consolation distance, is something else.

Sure, I'm being petty, pedantic & rather pathetic (it's what I do best) but the fact remains : people notice these things. Little things... but lots of little things - which just happen to mean a lot, and add up to a great deal.

So, no, Georgia will not be getting my votes.
I did like her Jive, Rumba, and maybe Samba, but that's about it. Really disliked her Paso. The rest was all pretty forgettable - especially her ballroom (it's her favourite, you know!!! Hmm...)

Cheerio!

Is this a parody post?

Let's just add this video clip where Giovanni alone remembers to mention his 'padrino' whilst also praising Anita.

ALL my posts are parodies, of sorts... Well done!

They're not intended to be sarcastic, ironic or bitter - more like a partially twisted portrait of a semi-reflection of the ghost of my own shadow, as seen through a keyhole. Ya dig? Just nod.

I'm heavily into Derrida, deconstruction & all things that dangle.

I'm like Claudia Winkleman crossed with Bernard Manning, minus Glen Hasard multiplied by Gavin Henson. Then divide by zero and think of the number you first thought of. Am I right? I'm surely not far from wrong, wherever that is. Look! I'm pointing to it now! No, not my finger, you dunce! Oh, sack my cook, I'm off to bedtime, as it's half past my shelf life. Anyone care to rejoin me?

I now feel like I always feel when you meet someone unusual or a weird thing happens while no one else in the world is awake. Should I wake 'em up? Come and look! Because you might have disappeared by morning, taking all trace of your existence. I saw a bit of the meteor shower the other night. Again, no one was there, apart from my dogs and they were unaware or unimpressed.

Quite relieved. I misread 'sack my cook' first time round. But still

Georgia has done the best she can do, as have Katie and Kellie. All the contestants this year have been fighting for a place in the final rather than to win since Jay's had the win wrapped up since day one, and all three girls have achieved that, so well done to them.

It does kind of baffle me how Georgia came last in the vote, or second last (behind Helen), last week, yet manages to pull ahead of not one, but two, other contestants this week.

Kellie's been in the bottom two twice, whilst Georgia's, Anita's and Katie's support has collapsed over the last two weeks. If Georgia can pull ahead so easily (and fall into the bottom two so easily), it just proves none of the girls have any real support. I mean, of course they've had support because they all got so far without landing in the bottom two, but when it's mattered most, their voters are no where to be seen. Not a single one of them managed to keep hold of their support until the final.

If anyone had any doubts Jay was going to walk this final before, they certainly shouldn't now.

Georgia's my favourite and since the beginning I've just hoped that she'd place 'joint' second, so if she manages to do that, I'll be happy.

An excellent post. Did you mention the bouncing up and down whenever she's got one of her high marks... I can't take to her at all. Having a poor wee lamb on each series is as inevitable as an Eastenders 'actor'. I can imagine the Eastenders set 'baggsying' which ones are going to be approached first. How about mixing it up for once and laying off the presenters and 'Enders' clan

I like Georgia, but she was actually considered the Ringer at the beginning.

Jay and Ainsley had the same odds with the bookies after the Launch Show Celebrity Dance at only 10 to 1. Did you see his first dance - the Cha Cha? Didn't look a winner.

Actually Helen - especially - and Kellie had the best dance training.

I like Georgia, she dances well and think she comes across as a nice girl. Love her partnership Giovanni. She tries hard not to cry - it's always somebody else who points it out.

I like Jay best - vaguely knew of him before this for his charity work - but think Georgia is very good and I hope she does well ( liked Anita too)

The problem for me is the lack of wow factor in their routines. That is why I have so much trouble deciding who I would like to see win. I think they have peaked a little too soon. She started off with a great gutso and I really liked her. But I think in the last couple of weeks they have tailed off a bit. He has to add a bit more bite for me, their routines are nice and sweet, but you need a bit more than that for the final.

Georgia's cha cha was terrible I thought ... awful ... but the judges were kind. Also, I thought there was a mistake in the VW where Gio had to pull/push her into position but nothing was mentioned. I'll have to watch it back.
She had limited time but boy did we know all about it. Plus she used moves in her cha cha that we've seen from her before and her VW was a dance she'd done before.
I think she'll be better this week ... she seemed to sink because of being in the dance off.

Bouncing up and down you say? Now you mention it, I have seen her getting excited at receiving high marks - and maybe on more than one occasion too!!! It truly is a disgusting sight and surely is reflective of the darker, more uglier side of her character. Doesn't make me feel so bad for hating her now, in fact I feel even more than justified!!!

Yes, it's absolutely disgraceful that someone dares to show their excitement and happiness in such a truly animated fashion.

My hope is that this year's final will be decided solely by great dancing, not illness, injury, prejudices against certain contestants, favouritism or any other outside factor, just great dancing!! We have four contestants all capable of pulling out great, showstopping routines so let's get behind them ALL & hope that they all emerge as winners regardless of who actually lifts the trophy!!!!

On the subject of Georgia I have made no secret of the fact she was my choice from day one, as a big Corrie fan & Nothing I have seen throughout the series has changed that!!
I find her youthful exuberance & enthusiasm both endearing & infectious and I see nothing wrong with showing a bit of emotion!! It's an intense environment & affects different contestants different ways!!
As regards her behaviour towards the other contestants I certainly haven't seen a problem, she seems to be one of the group & popular amongst them, the genuine disappointment from them when she landed in the dance off was testament to that!!
When she did land in the dance off she was nothing but gracious aboutthe wuality of the opposition she was up against & made a point of going to hug Helen before she performed!! She struggled to hide her joy at getting through after the show but why would she??
Regarding her behaviour on semi final night my heart went out to the poor girl!! She was just so obviously completely out of sorts & still feeling lousy but like a little trooper she put herself out there & got through it with sheer determination, delivering two routines that, whilst not her best were certainly worthy of the comments & scores that they received!! When she was stood waiting to hear her fate on the results show she looked like she would rather be anyehere else & almost like she didn't care if she went through or not!! With this in mind I found it rather cruel & unnecessary to make her wait till the end to tell
her she was through, but that's entertainment I guess!! She did at least manage to give Katie a smile & I don't think she was rude in her celebrating but others may disagree!!
I think if ever Georgia writes her autobiography, Strictly semi finsls eeek eill probably be recorded as a nightmare she managed to get through if I'm guessing!!

Anyway I waffle, in summary Georgia to me is a delight to watch, has provided us with some of Strictly 2015's most memorable moments ( tango, samba, American smooth, that Charleston) & I salute her & will be supporting her in the final on saturday as I think the best dancer, generally & one of the most likable, down to earth & genuine Strictly contestants for years!!

Good luck to all on Saturday & Good night!!

Good luck to all on Saturday & Good night!!”

What a lovely post!
