Think it's high time i upgraded from my old nokia 3410. but i need a little guidence here. I only really use it at work so i don't want to be tied to a year contract, a PAYG would do nicely ( probably around £60)...Don't want it too colourful or 'gimicky' but i'd like a colour screen and polyphonic tones.........but most important to me...it must have java games!!!! ...it'll help pass the time when at work .

If you have any particular model you recommend then please post. I've perused countless sites looking for ideas but it's just too damn mind boggling at times...The choice is too great...

Sincerely

Coffee

Sony Ericsson K500i perhaps. Very cheap for what you get. New K300 is out on Orange now too.
One of the Motorola V5xx phones would do you nicely too.

Nokia 3120 deffinetly. No camera but has color screen, poly tones and java plus it looks proffessional and is easy to use.

Mines cost £100 an upgrade / Yours cost £80 which I paid and got £60 for your old phone... Don't slag my phone when your phone cost nothing at all.

Erm...I think the K700i is too glitzy for your needs. It is a high end phone.
I would avoid Nokia's purely because they are a design disaster. All because something's popular, doesn't mean it's good (see Jamster). They also lack that extra something. Not all of them though.

If you have had a nokia in the past then I would suggest sticking to it
If you get on with its operating system then why change and get frustrated by something which seems illogical
The Sony ericssons are absolute garbage and do not last six months without going wrong.
Its all very well spouting off about screen colours but if you cant see them in bright lights you might as well be David Blunkett.

Nokia's are the best phone's for several reasons
Easy to unlock and change covers and sturdy.

I would not buy from carphone warehouse pfffffft

You get new phones on Ebay you know, already unlocked and alot cheaper than the shops.
