Island head expected leona to bring a lot of money if I remember correctly..I m sure Island is more willing to perceive leona s ideas, and let be herself..but I do not see them renew a contract if she will sell as I AM sold let's being honest

I'm sure Island had no expectations to sell lots going by her recent album sales. They didn't have any say in the album either. Leona gave them the album, they jumped aboard to release it. FUMF didn't do as they thought it should have been so promo was being held back.

Not only album sales bring in money, so do private gigs and Leona has done tons of them. In that case she did bring money, maybe hence she could go on tour etv

Depending on her deal with Island, the U.K tour must have brought some money in for them too?

Also saw on Twitter that Beyoncé had over 70 writers for her new album. Many have said its her most personal album to date. Putting I Am next to Lemonade, at least we can say that Leona's most personal album, really was personal to her with under 15 contributors, even it did have a tiny fraction of the sales.

Disagree! Kesha is miles ahead of many 'singers' today and I've always thought she has a great voice. Plus she is a very talented writer.

Is it possible that Island will remain Leona's label, as far as A&R input and album production are concerned, and Leona's negotiations with Def Jam are for a new contract that permits them just to distribute any new music from her in the US but without any creative control?

Is this just the version she did in the studio or has she recorded it properly for them?

Apparently Ella Henderson recorded a studio version of the cover she has on the album, be great if it is a studio recording.

Yeh as soe said, Ella never sang that song on the radio so it must be recorded but leona did Sing it on air. I'm sure it will be a good quality version though if it's not a studio recording.

I actually think we might be getting a proper studio recording.

I have done a search of at least 10 of the artists on the album and can't find any of the performances on youtube, not a trace of them singing these songs on BBC Radio 2. Here is an ad for the album.
