Amazing news!

This is absolutely perfect for her right now. 4 months is nothing, it's a very small part for a lot of exposure. Plus the amount of industry connections she'll make through this will be brilliant, overall I just think it's a smart career move. This doesn't mean she's no longer a recording artist. It's just expanding her brand and adding another string to her bow. I know a lot of you might not see it now but this could be one of the best things she's done for her career in a long time. I'm so pleased for her. She'll be doing a lot of promo in New York aswell so she may pop up on a few chat shows with Andrew Lloyd-Webber.

If her management deal is indeed Global then you needn't worry about her relationship with UK radio. As it's been said in the past, UK radio is about politics and shady side deals, Global just happen to be the king of them.

Yeah Jimmy Fallon has a lot of guests who are doing Broadway shows. Would love to see her interviewed on there. Also if she released her version of the song it could introduce it to a new generation (I myself had never heard the song until this week).

It's an iconic role with one of the most iconic songs from any musical in history.

The song ok...I mean the role what she have to do that is so big from others roles rather than singing one song

it says leona is a mezzo soprano...are they right?
i always thought she was a soprano cause her voice is so light yet powerful

It hasn't even been 24 hours yet and Leona is getting tons of buzz in the media. I am just so excited i will finally get to see her live. If even only one song i will see this. I'm from Connecticut so a train ride away. YES!

Because it is the only hit song in the show and the actress who's sung it gets the attention. Elaine Paige in London, Betty Buckley in the US.

Am I right in thinking they are also adapting Cats into a film?

I hope this is why they've picked Leona to prime her ready for the role!

I'm sure she'll be able to record whilst doing the show, especially with her being based in NYC now. We weren't going to get the album until 2017 at the earliest anyway.

I don't know how label contracts work but If she has just signed a new deal with DJ, would she not have been given a certain amount of time to have the album ready?

When we first heard about Cats, I was pretty sceptical. I didn't really want Leona to go down the Alexandra Burke route.
I think I was wrong now, this is big. She's gonna get worldwide recognition for this role and she's gonna be a part of one's of the biggest musicals ever history. Big things like that help Leona shake the x factor connection off her back. I am really happy and proud!

Also I can't wait to hear Home.
Leona has never been so musically active while recording an album before

As usual, Hollywood will cast for box office buzz. And that's not Leona in the US, I'm afraid . Probably Meryl Streep.

Has someone said Leona has signed a new deal with Island/Defjam? Is that here some place?

You never know. The director is the same as Les Miserables and at the time Eddie Redmayne wasn't a huge household name. I'm not saying Leona's a shoe-in, but she might get consideration if her performance gets good reviews.

It would be so cool if she got a Tony nomination

They also cast Samantha Barks after she was in the musical version

Do they usually release DVDs of Broadway shows?

When Brandy appeared in Chicago last year I remember her performing loads on various TV shows over there so I can imagine it will be the same with an even bigger show like Cats, I can only see this as being a positive thing to raise Leona's profile even further over in the states.

I can also imagine there being more publicity when it comes to the Tony Awards which are quite big over there, 6 million people watched this years awards and it would be nice if Leona won an award!
