I was worried about Leona not being able to do promo, but I think it was Envoirment that pointed out that there are lots of shows that are based in New York, so she can definitely do some shows with Pitbull. It isn't like she isn't going to have days off from Cats.

The one thing that annoys me about this label business is that it wouldn't have even been newsworthy in two weeks time when she signs a new deal. So many artists change labels quietly under Universal or Sony or whatever and it doesn't even get mentioned. It really shouldn't have been news.

I know what you mean. There seems to be some pleasure taken in it from the British tabloids. Typically, I'm afraid.

I suppose that the only comfort is that it is regarded as big news. All round the World it seems today. So if there is good news, hopefully that will also be given a high profile.

Just read that Fifth harmony only sold 6k album sales (without streaming) on their second week in US :/ sales are such to a low point unless you are a big big name

Tbh dance/club songs like "Work From Home" don't really get albums shifting much.

Ye, but the album market has collapsed heavily sadly. Not to say that Fifth Harmony's numbers aren't disappointing though, because they are. Most albums that sell big do so over a while unless it's by a massive artist (Adele). So if Leona's to have any success next album she needs to either promote heavily during Q4 or manage to get some minor hits to sell the album over the course of a year. By minor I mean that go like top 100 and stick around for a while and get airplay from BBC Radio 2/Heart. *_* Slim chance of that happening though.

But the only matinees are on Saturday. They aren't doing Wednesday, too.

I just ventured into that thread on the main x factor page and I am getting so annoyed reading people who have never been to see Leona saying she has no performance skills it's so annoying saying she looks uncomfortable on the stage etc..... I have seen Leona ten times now and she looked very comfortable on the stage to me she owned it, They also mention dancing and lack of can't dance, Well I don't go to a Leona concert to see dancing and I think Leona moves more like a rock star in a way, Not sure I should have looked in that thread as my blood is boiling!

Regarding her voice, I think Cats will do wonders for it. At the end of the day the vocal folds are muscles and when used correctly and consistently, they are only going to build strength.

I am excited to see how she sounds at the end of the run, hopefully this will really help Leona deliver consistently again.

Exactly, also they didn't ask Leona "can you come sing a song please?" They'll have to break down the song and put emotion on every single word and how she best hit it etc.. I'm sure she's being taught by a vocal coach the entire time.

I'm happy Leona's getting a chance at Broadway, but she didn't need that to exercise her voice properly. Any singer with respect for her craft and any sense, exercises her voice for hours a week, even when she's not working. That's the only thing they have to sell. And I'm sure we all think Leona has plenty of sense.

I assume she will sing it the way the composer (ALW) wants it sung. In musicals, even in revivals, the composer rules. I presume, Leona auditioned singing Memory, since that's her only song.

As to a vocal coach, I'm sure Leona has one and will use her if she's having trouble.
