I just hope radio play it! After so many flops it could be hard for her to get slots etc on shows/radio :/ just hope this isn't the case and with One More Sleep a good song is a good song and it will be played.

Or maybe everything can be shifted up a lot sooner if Def Jam sets Leona up with a lot of writers/producers - be quicker getting the album out that way.

Ohhhh yesss that performance was truly glorious; 2011 was truly a year of wonder for Leona's vocals, they were effortlessly immense!

I don't think it's necessarily hate but more of critical analysis of her vocal ability in the face of Simon and Co. trying to promote her as being essentially the best vocalist to come out of xfactor... Which is undoubtedly Leona thus far, Sam Bailey was truly amazing and consistent as well...

Side-note; Louisa's voice reminded me of someone's voice soo much and I couldn't put my finger on it earlier; but I think I now remember, her voice reminds me of a more vocally skilled version of Victoria Justice...

As someone who only has seen Louisa sing in the past couple days, I will say that girl is impressive. Some of her X Factor performances remind of Leona's performances in that a strong vocalist really told the story of the songs well. HOWEVER, as I stated before, their voices are completely different. I initially said that she sounded like Jessie J/Christina. Now, I think a more accurate comparison in both ability and tone is Joss Stone. Also, I don't think Louisa was quite as consistent as Leona in the live shows.

Forever Young was a horrible single choice for Louisa. It was nowhere near as good as her other performances on X Factor. It is flopping for a winner's single, but that doesn't mean she won't have a really successful album. I hope Syco doesn't doom her career by choosing wrong singles like they did for Leona.

If she does have a successful album, so be it. She really looks up to our star, Leona, and I will probably become a Louisa fan as well when she releases some music.

I'm confused because I love songs like Run very organic powerful and raw. And on the otherside I want her to do contemporary RnB album with dancehall/reagge influence because her voice is so hot! 😍

If so, grrr, i find it so frustrating, what's the point of creating a master piece like Power, to just leave them dustily on the album.....

Leona was really enthused about this in the video she did, and was quite complimentary about herself singing in the heavens! which was nice to see, and also shows she knows it's a special song.... Ever since she said that I've NEEDED a transcendent performance, e.g:

Leona's - Run @ X Factor
Mariah's - Fly like a Bird @ Grammys
Adele - SLY @ Brits

I feel the same way about Thank you and the Essence of Me, which i know she has promised for the tour, i just cannot help but feel that as yet, she's not been given a platform to shine from.

Core fans will see them, but they need a slot like the TV performance of FTEISYF and subsequent Sekonda watch advert which really catapulted that song.

I really wish i could see the negotiation process of her getting promo slots... I feel like they need someone super passionate to be like LOOK, your show NEEDS this performance, give us FULL creative control including song choice and you'll be blown away, and more importantly the audience will be!

Also they need to start taking more care of her TV sets, better sound equipment and start forcing the technical teams to get her mic level correct ......

She's got the star power, i wish her team would be more demanding, like Jessie J during a live voice performance, she started over cause it just wasn't right....Which i think is absolutely the right approach Leona needs to take....

No performance is better than a panned one.

As soon as the Ben duet was proposed, any feelings of unease of discomfort should have been aired, and if necessary she be pulled from the slot. I'd rather she do that than perform a sub par performance ( Due to Ben...)

Leona has done a lot of favours for people, it's time she starts calling them in or cutting those people out. How many performances, private and public has Leona performed for Simon and she ended up with the worst slot of the night......

However, i do believe this albums era was going to be relatively short lived due to the empowerment theme dominating the album, I've found it hard to maintain an emotional connection with the album due to the intense nature of feeling "empowered" being a generally short lived emotion.

What i mean by that is, it's usually a rush of empowerment which spurs a change in life followed by a calm as you cannot be constantly feeling actively empowered.... that would be exhausting.

You settle into your new found power after your empowerment, which then becomes the norm until you are next challenged beyond yourself and need to feel empowered.

However you can be constantly in Love and maintain that feeling for a lifetime. She needs a corker of a love song for her next album.

I just rewatched Leona's performance of AMLT on the X Factor final to try and see why it connected so well emotionally. I think that the singing is beautiful paced to create the climax on that final beautiful note and the choir enhances, but doesn't drown her out. Also, and I think this is something the X Factor has lost with the use of an arena, it is brilliantly filmed for the TV audience. The sound is excellent and the close ups on Leona's face really connect her to the viewer. She is facially as expressive as she is vocally. It feels intimate as if you are experiencing her emotions.

Actually, the camera really loved Leona throughout her time on the X Factor and made tremendous use of close ups the show her emotions. It didn't matter that she wasn't moving her body much, in fact it was even better when she was still and the focus was on her face. Not only does she look beautiful, but she looks emotional and fully engaged. She has real charisma on TV.

I think that in the move to the arena they have to some extent lost the focus on the TV audience in a desire to make the show seem more spectacular. Fundamentally, it is after all the viewers at home that they need to engage, not the relatively few, even in an arena.

You are right Ariella. Really happy that Leona appeared on the show when the setting was more intimate. I still cry at Somewhere Over the Rainbow. You can tell Simon was fighting tears too.

I am planning a Christmas special for you all. A compilation of me doing Leona's biggest hits I have never done before, including Naked, Take a bow and Hurt.

Watching the FUMF video, I was so here for that. Thunder is sh*t. I can't deal with it.

I truly believe FUMF would have smashed in the US. Island/DF saw it flop in the UK which seems like it will consistently snub her regardless of what she does and went with a "safe" choice like Thunder that is a worse version of previously successful songs in the US.

This is the same nonsense that stopped Glassheart from being released after Collide. They thought "she already tried that" even though Collide was sh*t like Thunder if not remixed.

This old performance popped up on my youtube home page and I really love Leona's performance here. While the duet didn't really work, Leona herself gave a perfect vocal performance. Her control when she sings Trouble is really impressive, from the ghostly verses to the powerful ending. And she's really 'into' the character in this one. The stage setting and her attitude made it very special. Imagine she did this performance with Bruno Mars on an award show. It would've been so epic.

Thanks for that. Her partner couldn't match her, but it shows the song works so well as a duet.

Leona has given us so,many really good performances over the years. And even her less good ones have been really good.
