Who said anything about holding a phone up to ones eye. What makes you think it wont be able to hold it like you normally do and look at the sensor?

Although its not a feature I would use, I will stick to pin entry like I have on my G3.

I think Samsung should take time before launching upgrade version of Galaxy S series. They keep launching in every six months. I don't like this idea of Samsung.

Well no, not at all. They update it once a year.

I'm still on the S5. Hopefully they reintroduce the SD card and waterproofing and I might think about getting one.

Why do I have to pay for the extra storage?

I would just choose another manufacturer if I was not happy and not one that was taking the mickey on the price of the higher capacity phones.

I'm debating looking at one of the Huawei phones when my S5 gives up the ghost.

I don't see why people are so stuck in their ways with blinkered views on one manufacturer?

Yes - I could not believe that they got rid of that on the S6.

i did not realize until this weekend one of my friends said he dropped his Edge in some water a few weeks back. Also one of my friends dropped his iPhone 6 down the toilet Saturday night whilst we were out in the pub and now it does not charge so think it's worth having the waterproof option (even though I've never dropped a phone in any water there is always a chance).

I do think mobile phones reached a kind of plateau in 2014. There was very little of interest tech wise in 2015, and in fact many brands went a bit backwards if anything.

I think the S7 will really have to be a bit special (and have at least the micro SD card back, and ideally removable battery and FM Radio) to even make me look twice. If not I can see myself sticking with my current combo of the Z3 Compact and S5 (and just buy another battery for it for £15) for another year.

There really is a big drop in buzz and excitement about new phones now.

Yes, it's easily done.

I use mine quite a lot in the great outdoors, often in torrential rain, so being waterproof gives me the confidence to be actually able to use it.

I love how DS's article on the Galaxy S7 says "Did someone say iPhone killer?"... It's the exact same thing they had in their article on the Galaxy S6. It's literally a copy and paste job! < rolleyes >

DS articles aren't necessarily quality

Suspect it said the same for S5 and S4 ...

Having been out of the tech scene for some time slowly getting back into things last year. It still amazing to see all the things I cxan do with such small device like my s6. I have top of range PC and its not been turned on since I got my s6.

The memory limitation does not bother me so much I mean going on thestats i have download 4.4tb on since start of January in torrents so using the vast amount of cloud services its easy to manage.

One thing that still impresses me is miracast apart from odd bit of interference its, incredible.Want to watch any file including hvev fiile on your TV in seconds ? Weather its a 12gb file easy.

Emulators playing through shenmue or maybe ze!da or mario.

Can't wait to see what the future holds.

Would it be fair to say the editorial standard has dropped a few shades in recent years?

Content isn't what it used to be, all seems geared to the never ending 10 things list or 5 reasons to buy........

Anyone sense a hint of buzzfeed?

Yes and the huge font redesign fits with the dumbing down of "news and information" sites. :-/

The only issue that bothers me is the memory, it's the one reason why i went from the S4 to the S5 and not the S6, because the 5 had expandable memory (to be fair, the lady i spoke to in o2 when i got my contract for the S5 understood why i chose the 5, whereas everywhere else was trying to shove the S6/Edge at me). If the 7 doesn't, then that would be another Samsung flagship phone i wouldn't consider.

Waterproofing is a must as well, can't believe Samsung ditched that with the S6.

All manufacturers are moving away from micro sd slot and removable battery. It's much more profitable for them to see you fixed storage models with no removable battery so I'm surprised that anyone else thinks Samsung etc will move back to the old removable battery etc. Apple have been masters at this sort of thing and what has made them a lot of money so there's no reason for anyone else to think differently

CPW did a double memory deal a couple of weeks after the S6 was released hopefully they will do something similar this time around. Never got anywhere near filling the memory on my S6.

i just cannot understand why people want to pay £500-£600 for a mobile phone.

i recently got the vodaphone ultra 6 for £115
with £10 top up (didnt use but had to buy)
then £3 unlock it
and 128gb memory card £7
and phone cover for £4
= £139

and put my giffgaff sim in and enjoy unlimited texts unlimited minutes and unlimited internet for £20 top up.

Because people need and want to do more than just make calls, plus it's a fashion accessory these days, not just a practical one. There's many reasons.

If your smart and watch out for deals you don't. I got an S6 32gb for 11.50 month for 12 months paid that straight off. I can upgrade to the s7 one month early in my contract. Then costing 22.50 month.

My daughter has the S6 Edge and its a great phone but...no SD slot and you can't swap the battery; lets hope they bring these two features back in the S7.
